The REAL story is starting now and the Yonko have basically been erased. Shanks is essentially a Mary Geoise resident who went for a stroll and Blackbeard is a D therefore an enemy of Mary Geoise's residents. Their Yonko status is irrelevant.

Yonko was a title reserved for mid story opponents.

This is the endgame. Yonkos in Kaido and BM were penultimate arc/saga antagonist in that way. And BB himself is a yonko. Cope

I think Sabo is being judged a bit too prematurely. I mean he did face the 6 rulers of the world and had to escape from the most fortified place in the world, but then again, the security seems to fucking suck at Mary Geoise considering how many people managed to sneak away aboard royal ships without any kind of inspection and that Bonnie was able to sneak in as the Queen Dowager of the Sorbet Kingdom as if that wasn't a red flag to who she really was.

Narratively? They were always just a fighting force, they would never be the ones carrying the antagonist plot since the gorosei introduction, this hasn't changed much.

At the very least Fujitora and Aokiji had some separated plots
