gear 5 design is so ass,
worst design I've ever seen, just white goofy with white turd on top of his hair
it lacks details that G4 had

the powers are also just basically base Goofy most of the time using gear 3
it lacks power
and oda lacks imagination to actually use real toon force
the attacks feel slow because it's either just gear 3 or oda needs to set up bunch of panels for weak toons force that does nothing, unlike gear 4 that just spams attacks and feel powerful

only one of these ruined the story and made goofy's character unsalvageable. completely ruining goofy and any seriousness of his fights. And required the biggest and worst retcon asspull ever in one piece.

G5.

The design and colouring are very lackluster. I've see recolours which make him look more "sunny" and I way prefer that to the bland white and purple.

I also would have preferred it if his buff mode was the default, muscle G5 is best G5.

Either that, or just give him a b/w filter and straight up turn him into a rubberhose cartoon character with a drastic artstyle/animation change to show how different he is.

I also don't care for the Nika stuff, would've preferred if Luffy simply inherited JB's will instead of sharing his power.

Speaking of which, G5's powerset is also 50-50. Sometimes it can be awesome but a lot of the time it's just eh. Certainly doesn't feel as much of a cartoon character as Oda wants him to be.

G4 Snakeman is next for being useless.

Then G4 Boundman just because G2 is much more iconic. But they are pretty much equally great.

I fw heay with G2, G3 and G4.

I've made my peace with G5, but it's not my favourite form.

I wouldn't consider basic G2 and G3 forms though, only Boundman, Tankman and Snakeman.

It's a shame Luffy didn't develop/reveal more G4 variations before G5.

I’ve hated g5 because of the retcon bullshit but the design isn’t bad at all. It has potential to look cooler if Oda makes him fight more seriously. The anime makes it look much better for example.

Boundman looks the ugliest imo. Snakeman looks cool but it’s involved with pretty trash fight choreography, he just extends his arms very fast.
