Gen 1 and Gen 3 are the best. I love all three starters.

Gen 2 is ruined by Meganium sadly even though the other two are great and Gen 4 has three solid ones but none of them is outstanding to me

Greninja was initially tho anime carried him a bit. Same for Gen 7, decent again but not great

Gen 8 is legitimately GREAT again.

1. Gen 3, I love all 3 starter evolution with Blaziken being my favorite.Noneoftheless the final evolutions are amazing however the mega evolutions were fantastic.
2. Gen 1, the OGs. They are Iconic enuff said.
3. Gen 6, Greninja is so cool. Meanwhile the other two were good.
4. Gen 2, good designs just not as remarkable as the above 3.
5. Gen 4, the designs were fine, I did like infernape but that pretty much it.
6. Gen 5, ehh not so great. That when the fire- fighter types were overdone. While it should had been water fighter because Samurott is base on a samurai. So a miss opportunity for pokemon..
7. Gen 8, just there.
8. Gen 7.. Horrible, the evolutions were just plain bad.
9. Gen 9.. literally the worst yet.
