Mihawk verbally spit on the Yonkou title (basically confirming he could have it but it's irrelevant to him), and then proceeded to receive a bounty over his own Yonkou Captain Buggy, Yonkou Teach, and Yonkou Luffy, despite being an underling.
Oda went so far out of his way to put the Yonkou status beneath Mihawk it's almost funny.
With Kuzan he had him walk in on an entire Yonkou crew by himself and insinuate that Kuzan could potentially solo everyone there including Teach.
I get what Oda was doing, in both cases he was making sure Mihawk and Kuzan's portrayal is unblemished in the situation. However in order to do so he actively embarrassed the Yonkou and their status in a way (which might have been necessary to get the point across).

I believe Mihawk is a Yonko of Cross Guild. It’s pretty telling that Crocodile had to reach him to give him the idea and thought he would have taken the position.
He told Crocodile to put Buggy as a puppet instead and be has a higher bounty than Buggy.
“Cross” Guild is a marine hunting organisation and Mihawk was known as the marine bunter. Meaning the one who is going to order the crew around to hunt marines will be Mihawk himself.
Can you see what they’re implying? Cross Guild’s morals will be so high because Mihawk is leading them. While Yonko are scared of admirals and WG whereas Mihawk gets offered a warlord position so he could stop hunting marines LOL.
