Sanji is the only one (now Jinbe added) with both high enough intelligence and high enough strength to breeze through thr storyline with very minimal disadvantages, yet Oda purposely make him underachieving. He should be the one with higher glory/success rate than the MC (because MC needs to struggle).

Also, no, it's to believe in his female crew to take a fight instead of him protecting them all the time.
