Revolutionary Army helped Luffy also because they thought Ace was Dragon's son. Ivankov wouldn't have helped Luffy if the situation hadn't been they were on the clock to help Ace.

Rayleigh trained Luffy like Mihawk trained Zoro. In fact I'd argue Zoro is more privileged by the fact he was trained by someone who uses the exact same weapon and is the best in the world at it. Luffy got the basics of haki and was left to his own.
