He probably wouldn’t have. He literally stated that he wanted to give the throne to a better man than himself. Whereas Loki was compared to young Harald.

Also, Loki clearly doesn’t want to be king

Yeah, it was Loki after all. Not sure if he was Harald's first choice, but, on second thoughts, I do think that he would choose him one way or another, as Harald always respected Elbaf's traditions. However, I think that Loki will still end up being a pirate... he never wished to be the king. Maybe he'll take the crown and give to Hajrudin? He seems to be the right person to break the rules.
