Speculations Who Harald would have chosen to rule Elbaf ?

It was obviously Hajrudin

He said he wanted someone more virtuous. Loki wasn’t more virtuous than Harald, he was the same as young Harald. Hajrudin on the other hand always defended the weak.
It’s kinda dumb that Harald couldn’t marry Ida because of the Giant Elders, but he was apparently gonna make the bastard Hajrudin into the next king? Surely the elders would be even more opposed to that?

What will probably happen is that Harald tells Loki he wants Hajrudin to be King, and at the arc’s end Loki will put Hajrudin on the throne and tell the elders to go fuck themselves. What are they going to do, challenge Loki?

Hajrudin doesn't have a kingly temperament at all, and he's also a complete fodder, whereas Loki has the power required of a giant king, like his father.
Hajrudin leads the new giant warrior pirates. Loki has never been liked by any giant, even before he killed Harald.

Hajrudin is weak, but also, so is Riku and Cobra. Harald didn’t value strength above all else.

Leading a pirate crew has nothing to do with being a king. Again, Loki is misunderstood, Harald knows this and the rest of Elbaf will come to know it by the time the arc ends.

Elbaf isn't some generic kingdom, it is the strongest nation in the world where strength has been prized for centuries, and the only king we've seen was a peak top tier. Hajrudin comes nowhere close to this, Loki is arguably even stronger than Harald.

That was a kid hajrudin
Adult Haj went to DR to get stronger, and joined the Grand Fleet because it brought more power to his little crew. Dude is still a warrior, albeit a weaker one when compared to Loki and Harald.

IMO, Loki is too assertive, like Harald was before meeting Ida. He can't be reasoned with if he gets something stuck in his mind.
While Haj is submissive, ready to bend the knee if it benefits his people, like Harald with the WG.
Neither of them is the answer. You need both to rule well.

That being said, considering when Harald was going to pick a successor, Haj was more in line with his ideology, not Loki. Which would have been yet another mistake on Harald's part, like with most everything he did from GV onward.

Both his Sons are warriors one by chocie, the other because of others. He would have probably wanted both to rule together as one completes the other

out of them Hajrudin would have been the worst leader as he is blinded by prejudice and ambition on the other side Loki is blinded by resentment and anger but he showed completate love and loyalty towards those that accepted him.
It is funny to say but out of them Hajrudin strikes my more as the spoiled brath so eager to prove as Loki like Harald could have become a great king if the right persons entered his life and for a bit he had some one the same one as his father, but he proves that he is not stable with his emotions so he would have been despotic so both are needed
