Oda didn't give an explanation so it's assumption how they turn black
Mihawk literally told us that COA can turn any sword into a black blade.

Coa is part of the reason obviously but you can't prove it's the only one :kayneshrug:
I don't need to prove anything. What we've been told is that COA can turn any sword into a black blade. Until further notice, COA is the only factor.

If it was only coa related Roger would have had a black blade
This is your assumption. Roger's COA was simply not on the level of Ryuuma or Mihawk.

This is not how it works. We need to go with the most likely scenario here. What else could black blade be about exactly?
Idk having sex with it on the side?
The people that have / will have black blades have all had more care for their swords and treat them like people maybe that can be a factor :kayneshrug:
Oda gives us an answer end of this arc

So oden didnt take care of his swords? That he had for 30 years plus and were the only things he gave to his kids before he died.

Maybe, but i'll wait for him to show it before saying he can. Its safer that way
Sure, but there's no reason to assume he can't use it. This would be like assuming that the Issho can't use Ryuo or Dragon can't use hardening because he hasn't shown it. If Whitebeard (whose strength derives mostly from his Devil Fruit power) was capable of that level of flow control, Mihawk probably was as well.

Im saying Roger is still capable of beating him thanks to how he manipulates his flow on top of how massive his Haki pool is demonstrated. They both seem to have equally powerful Haki in terms of different usage to me lol.
Roger could have had superior COO to Mihawk and probably had the ultimate form of COC.

Its between him and Garp for me. So ill play it safe and say both equally have the best rn.
  • Current Garp is old and retired (hence significantly weaker).
  • Even after the Rocks fight, Garp needed to train to confront Chinjao.

And just like Bullet and Trav have said, its still speculation on how a Black Blade is made. It may not have anything to do with "having God level CoA" but something else lol

I am waiting for your panel that shows black blades depend on something other than COA.

What @trav said is that it's speculation that Mihawk turned Yoru black, not that it's speculation that COA is what blackens swords. We already know that's how black blades are made from Mihawk.

Nothing left to suggest Shanks > Mihawk.

Yankers- "unm... umm..... God haki!!!!... umm..... Advanced CoC!!!...." "He's not a swordsman"

Mihawk explicitly states CoA is the key to turning any weapon black.

Yankers- "We have to wait and see" "Oden didn't live and die for the blade" "Airbar technique user, not swordsman!!!!!!"

Many battles with a blade and CoA seems to be requirement to turn it into a black blade... We dont know how much of a swordman Roger was, as far as we know he might just not use the blade as his main means of atack, like Witebeard who atacked mainly with his DF not with his blade.

There is a special requirement for Black Blade, but at this point I dont think ita specifically having high level CoA lol
I mean Mihawk literally told us that COA can be used to make every weapon a black blade. Denying it at this point is sheer stubbornness.

That we don't know how black blades are made isn't exactly true, we know they can be forged through infusing the blade with haki.

Didn't Zoro already ask about how a black blade is forged?
If Mihawk already told him Coa is the only factor why is Zoro showing interest in finding out information about that?
Is Zoro just gonna find out he needs to power up his coa? :kayneshrug:

Roger and WB had this post, the CoA from their blades flowed like electric rays, and the power of the haki was so great that the weapons didn't even touch, and generated an air wave that shook the entire island

Shanks is unique in the current manga course that I see having something monstrous at this level.

Mihawk is probably talking about normal blackening that happens when you use coa not the permament black blade
Because in the fight with Onimaru Zoro is shocked when he hears Shusui became a black Blade
Then he says he is curious and wants to ask about black blades
So is Zoro a moron who just forgot what Mihawk told him? Or could it be that there is more to a black blade than just coa and we need to wait for an explanation? I like the later one :kayneshrug:
