Controversial Who is more controversial for their own respective series' fanbases? Sasuke or Zoro?

Character vise, easily Sasuke.
While Zoro's character post TS has been mediocre, he's just a "meh" character than anything else. Bland aura farmer.
While some dudes hate Sasuke's character and motivation like their life depends on it lol. It doesn't help that Sasuke's goals were poorly executed by the author as well

It's due to the unique position Zoro has in the show.
He has portrayal with both Luffy and Sanji, leading to natural fights with both their fanbases. Law/Kid are also two characters with some portrayal with Luffy, similar to Zoro - a conflict between these fanbases are also natural.
Now, when you consider that aside from Zoro, Luffy/Sanji/Law has the biggest fanbases with the series, you'd understand why it's a very natural thing that Zoro fans fight with most of the fanbase lol.
Coming to Luffy, only Zoro and Law (to an extend) has any sort of ground to stand on when compared to Luffy, via raw feats. So, Luffy fans only have to deal with Zoro and Law fans.
Kid fans don't fight with Luffy (cause it's an utterly laughable prospect), but you do see some Law fans fight with Luffy fans, just not to the extend Zoro fans fight with Luffy fans.

Mihawk is a top tier who is neither yonko nor admiral, but has a true rivalry with Yonko Shanks (like Roger/WB). It's again natural for Mihawk fans to fight with Yonko (espeically Shanks) fans and admiral fans, in the same way it's natural for yonko and admiral fans to fight with each other.

If Naruto would've ended with Pain, instead of the clown fiesta with resurrections and Kaguya, the series would've been GOATed.
Separate rinnegan from sharingan nonsense all together and make it a completely different thing.
End the series with the true chosen one who went bad, versus hard working dude (with help of a mythic beast of course lol) with some chosen one vibes (at that time Naruto wasn't a full blown chosen one shitting on prior his hard worker persona).
Finding a way to tie in Sasuke's plot in the same saga wouldn't be too hard here if the author tried.

Sasuke is a well written character and a favorite of kishimoto, to the point where people called the period of him "killing" Orochimaru to the kage summit Sharingan chronicles, for people that read when it was currents
Zoro gets memed on that his family connection got sbsed and several plot points was forgotten in "his arc"

It's a clear mid gen Roger vs WB.
IMO Mihawk vs Shanks is 101 vs 100
If someone thinks it's 99 vs 100, that's at least understandable too.
Two rivals who are as close as it can get.
But, the outcome of their fight being anything aside from a close extreme diff fight is impossible. Oda wouldn't have it be anything other than an extreme diff.
