I would agree with this. Luffy never was my fav, and I started to really dislike him even more after Nika manifestation. I mean, give me for once a self-made hero with a lame fruit he made awesome, not yet another chosen one!
As Luffy is the source for Nika, and Nika is hated a lot, here's one more reason to hate him. Also, Luffy shares one of the reasons why Oden is so hated - he's being shoved down our throats as greatest, and it doesn't feel earned. Nika wank is insufferable.

The problem with Yamato is lolden fanboying and her constant cosplay, which is very annoying. If only Oda makes her accepting who she is and not lolden then she wont be that bad.
Its hard to compare Oden with anyone else bcs he is not a villain, while characters like Big Mom, Orochi, celestial dragons, Spandam are villains that are intentionally written to be hated.

Yeah, I mean I do hate Spandam, but I got a lot of satisfaction when he was beaten, I expect similar case with all the CD trash. In the end of manga all those rapists, torturers and overall horrible people will be suffering, most likely fate worth than death. So in a way, I hate them less than I hate Oden, because in case of Oden we're supposed to like him and glorify his twerking. Ugh. There is no satisfaction that he no longer exists, because his legacy does!
