The closest we got was pudding drawing a map through Totto Land
That eventually didn't really matter because They reached the Main Island so easily

The Forest and Waterfall were attempts at making these territories more engaging but they are still mainly tied to the "main" territory.

Makes you wonder how Yonko crews stop smaller crews from doing drive-bys on their more distant territory

Law is kind of an interesting cross between a deuteroganist and a support character. Arguably he has more narrative claim to being the main character than anyone not named Luffy. But sure, Zoro has just been around longer and is basically an expy of the main character of some other Oda story so he gets the nod for second.

I suppose Nami ranks third after Luffy and Zoro in prominence among Straw Hats, due to her joining third, but in fighting she is sidelined for Sanji. So her and Sanji kind of share the third main character spot. Then Usopp, then chopper, then Robin and so on, as their order of joining is generally also their order of "importance."

one piece don't have a 2nd main character

to be a deuteragonist you need to have a stand alone story arc ... like Zuko in Avatar

Luffy is the main character
and 2nd important character is straw crew as a whole
cough Law is the closest to that. He has basically had a separate story in every arc he's been in especially Punk Hazard, where he even got his own boss.

Cant ser how OP have a deuteragonist like for example Sasuke in Naruto or Killua in HxH.

To me seems clear that Oda chose other format for the characters, Luffy is a stand alone main characters and the SH and other more relevant characters work as support characters for him, each for a specific part of Luffy character and in different order of importance.

I would put the order in this way:
-East Blue four: Its clear thay they have much more relevance in the story than the other SH, and each of them have a very specific role in relation to Luffy and the fact that they are all around the same age and started the jouney together in east blue is to give the vibe of a group of young friends setting to explore the world.

-Robin: Robin for sure have a special place in the story as she is a key characters for Luffy dream and is the characters Oda use to connect the SH to the WG and the world misterys, and because of that Oda have given her much more development than the other SH, even if she has been kind of sidelined after the TS.

-Law and Ace: Them are the main non-SH guys that set the story in motion in each of the parts of the manga, both having a strong connection to Luffy and to other things in the world, being the bridge between Luffy and those things, and Oda make both of them D. to futher increase the importante of them for the world events.

-Chopper: Before the TS he got a importance nearly as big as the EB4, but since then he have really become just the support character that heal the group whatever is needed, but with a very low story impact.

-Franky, Brook and Jinbei: All the three had theirs moments in the story, but today they are there just to make for the numbers in the crew and be used as plot tool when theirs specific function is needed, expecially Franky when something is need to be build or some plot connect to Sunny.
I agree. Luffy is really the only main character. The rest is just for discussion.

There’s nothing especially unique about how Law’s been treated. Nami, Vivi, Robin, Ace, and Momo (Sanji too, come to think of it) have all had much the same treatment. One main arc to focus on them and their conflict with their personal main villain, a few arcs beforehand to build up some mystery about them and develop them.

Does Nami have two flashback? Does Nami have two arcs dedicated to herself? Does Nami's dream have been highlighted as "legendary" like Sanji's All Blue dream? Does Nami have screentime closer to Luffy or to Sanji?

Putting aside that this is a bait thread and the fact that all the SH's are equal secondary main characters behind Luffy, a good argument could be made to say Sanji is the "second main character", he directly had his own arc and he has the third most screentime in the manga, above Zoro
