Lanji vs Burgess confuses me a great deal, tbh. Burgess is a Helmsman, he was never gonna fight Lanji. There's a better chance Pizarro or Vasco fighting Lanji than Burgess vs Lanji.

He's a martial artist and seemed like the most important underling along with Shiryu. But yeah, there was never a strong argument.

GB, I can only see him as Sanji or Jinbe's opponent. Kizaru and Fuji both make way more sense as Zoro's opponent. Plus GB's weak to fire so Sanji's well suited to fight him.

Depends how you define stratosphere. Can see the same diff in strength between them as the diff between the different YCs or VAs.

Yeah but at least oda explained what happened. If Ryokugyu went forward with what was happening in wano he’d be declaring war on Shanks which he’d need prior approval of.

That's the thing with Sanji's BB matchup. In theory everyone have a connection and can fight him, even Doc Q for example because he uses apple as weapon. But no one is extremely linked to him as thematic as Shiryu vs Zoro.

Sanji will fight whoever’s about to kill or harm someone weak in great danger (Vivi in Alabasta; Usopp/Nami in EL; Nami in Thriller Bark; Tashigi in PH; Chopper in Wano)

As such I think Lafitte is the best option. I can see a scenario where Lafittes torturing pudding trying to get her to read the red poneglyphs so he as a navigator can chart their path to Raftel. However, after the war starts he’ll say she’s no longer needed now that Nico Robin is nearby. And will be about to kill Pudding until Sanji jumps in.

Same here, I don't see there is any way that does not include a massive retcon that will ever give EoS Lanji the stats to beat a top tier. GB is thus the only top tier he can beat due to elemental advantage, so Lanji vs GB makes much more sense than Lanji vs Kizaru.

The thing is, for me Zoro vs Kizaru and Zoro vs Fujitora are both a win-win scenario. Zoro vs Kizaru's appeal is obvious, whereas Zoro vs Fujitora means Zoro's gonna beat the only OP character with interstellar-level feats and a likely future FA. I'm fine with either way happening, although at this point of the story, Fujitora seems to be Sabo's opponent more than Zoro's.
