Chapter Discussion Why arent people suspicious of Imu? 1163

#1
I was thinking about the new chapter, and we see that Imu reared their head for the first time in public. I was wondering, how did people not question what they saw that day. There were many witnesses of Imu, yet it seems like nobody was there. You never see anyone like Rodger, Garp, Whitebeard, etc. speak about the topic at all. On top of that, Dragon didn't know about Imu's existence until Sabo told him, which makes me even more confused. Maybe im misinterpreting it? Lmk

I thought this might be the case, but still wouldn't there be curiosity around the gorosei and this mysterious power that doesnt resemble any devil fruit seen so far?
maybe but the gorosei as far as they know are the highest authorities in the world, what are they gonna do about it ?

well Roger & co knows even more about it since they even reached laugh tale and they know the events that will happen in future because of it so why bother ( also not to mention that most of the stuff we're seeing lately is likely aggressively rectconed stuff )

Thats fair honestly. I had a feeling they'd want to pry after they saw Rocks do a full 180 and get possesed by domi reversi. It just like something that odd seems like it would lead them to question or pry, especially if it was able to affect someone as strong and influential as Rocks.

also keep in mind what robin said pirates dont try to directly mess with the WG that's what Revos do, if anything it's insane if they dont know about it xD rather than the pirates

Lots of people just saw a monster attacking indiscriminately, they won’t make the connection that there’s a king of the world. Seemingly Imu walks around as a silhouette like being, there’s no indication that these characters are even looking at a person. The marines saw Saturn transforming and can’t tell if he had a devil fruit power or some creature just came and took over him. Dragon would have no idea what to make of it, then you factor in the island vanished after this event, most wouldn’t even believe the tale if they heard it. It’s just one of those things that’s hard for anyone to tell what the heck is even going on.

Look, this is a world where someone can eat a random piece of Fruit and suddenly start sweating cream from every pore of their body.

It's a world where a woman can bring any object to life, and rides around on a talking cloud.

It's a world where you can end up in the middle of a explosion because someone flicked a booger at you.

Imu is NOT the weirdest thing they've seen in their lives. It's not even the weirdest thing most of them have seen THAT DAY! You take a look at what Imu is doing, and you just assume it's another Devil Fruit power. This is a weird world. Most of the people on God Valley have learned to just roll with it, at this point.

The witnesses at God Valley probably mostly assumed Imu was just another Knight of God using some obscure Devil Fruit power. Why would anyone assume that Imu is that special? Powerful, yes. But, completely unique? I don't think they'd have any reason to suspect that.
