It probably involved his crew. Kid was planning on looking for them. Based on Killer's reaction to Kid about their crew's whereabouts, as well as his gig as Kamazou, it's clear Kaido and Orochi had something over him, and it probably involved the crew. Since Orochi and Kaido went off to Onigashima and left everything to Kyoshiro, Kyoshiro likely helped Kid's crew. Since Kyoshiro was on Luffy and the Alliance side and Luffy helped him earlier, their enemy a common one, it was a no brainer for him to swallow his pride and work together with Luffy.
