This kind topics feels like "why King didnt fly soo high to a distance were Zoro couldnt reach him and waited there until Zoro died of old age?"

Its Shonen manga, the characters always fight and the heros wins.

Zoro himself taunts King and asks him why is he blocking, parrying and dodging Zoro's attacks now.

- Furthermore when going for the final finisher, Zoro did not care whether King had his flames on or off. Because he knew that he has the AP required to cut King now.

That's base Zoro pressuring King, no ryuo leaking or lightning on his swords.

As @ConquistadoR said, it's because Zoro's adv.coc + ap were too much for King so he decided to avoid it.
Zoro figured out after that he can hurt King with his flame or not. King also knew it that's why he used his ultimate attack (magma attack) because it could have burn and kill Zoro. Same for Zoro, they weren't playing.

That proves only with great adv.coc + AP you can defeat King.

He should have understood how vastly intense the Grandmaster's AP was before it was too late.
