I guess it should be due to Kaido having control over it. Knowing Mihawk he wouldn’t go around a tyrant yonko like Kaido and his crew’s base and expect a warm welcome. His fate could end like old man Hyo in Udon or run for his safety cuz if by any chance he chose to fight he is deemed to suffer major permanent damage tbh even if he could escape.
