Like many fans, I find that Oda has not kept all his commitments regarding the Onigashima war.
We all expected a huge war in view of the teasing, we thought that the red scabbards would die during the war and yet, they are all alives and there are no casualties for the Alliance. I remember Luffy's sentence to Vivi in Alabasta "You don't want anyone to die? We're not in a children's story, you know." and yet, I have the impression of being there in the children's story with Onigashima.
Some fights weren't up to par too, especially the Sanji vs Queen where I seriously wonder if it was Oda who really wrote this fight as he is below Sanji - Bon Clay and Sanji - Jabura in term of quality.
There's also this interview where Oda said that readers wouldn't be convinced if Luffy beats Kaido with a mighty blow and yet that's what happened.
Many times during this arc, I said to myself "What the hell have you done, Oda?? You are better than this!"
So finally, why didn't Oda keep all the commitments he had made for Onigashima?
In the end, I wonder if Oda is not wearing out and is no longer at his level of the Enies Lobby - MarineFord era when there, we felt the tension and the difficulties.
