Questions & Mysteries Why didn't Oda keep all his promises for Onigashima?

#1
Like many fans, I find that Oda has not kept all his commitments regarding the Onigashima war.

We all expected a huge war in view of the teasing, we thought that the red scabbards would die during the war and yet, they are all alives and there are no casualties for the Alliance. I remember Luffy's sentence to Vivi in Alabasta "You don't want anyone to die? We're not in a children's story, you know." and yet, I have the impression of being there in the children's story with Onigashima.

Some fights weren't up to par too, especially the Sanji vs Queen where I seriously wonder if it was Oda who really wrote this fight as he is below Sanji - Bon Clay and Sanji - Jabura in term of quality.

There's also this interview where Oda said that readers wouldn't be convinced if Luffy beats Kaido with a mighty blow and yet that's what happened.

Many times during this arc, I said to myself "What the hell have you done, Oda?? You are better than this!"

So finally, why didn't Oda keep all the commitments he had made for Onigashima?

In the end, I wonder if Oda is not wearing out and is no longer at his level of the Enies Lobby - MarineFord era when there, we felt the tension and the difficulties.

oda has turned one piece into a children's story, and it peaked at onigashima.

aside from not meeting expectatins or living up to the hype, act 3 is riddled with plot holes:
-how did jinbe knew the exact time and place to meet the alliance.
-how did hiyori get into onigashima, and how did she knew which room law teleported the scabbards to.
-if the merries are supposed to be all over onigashima, then why didn't they detect that orochi was still alive and burning the castle.
-where the hell are the big mom pirates.
-nikomamusi's ship arriving at the same time as marco, and marco's letter being useless hype.
-how did momonosuke fly luffy to onigashima (1025) without knowing how eastern dragons fly (1027).

oda is tired.

I think people mature over time, but they picked up on the experience when they were young from earlier arcs. Wano was pretty bad, but the other arcs are also full of flaws in the fights. Take Enies Lobby as an example, it makes no sense for Galley to invade one of the 3 government strongholds; you talk about deaths, in Enies Lobby one of the sea monsters that went blind ends up regaining his sight, it's not unlike Kin'emon being alive. And that's what I remembered in a few seconds, if we look deeper we'll find many more flaws.

I have said it many times on here but the story of One Piece is essentially over. All Oda is doing is continuing padding the story and artificially over bloating it with a bunch of new story lines and characters.

We are at the end and we still haven’t gotten much info on anything essential to One Piece lore. Just from a Wano lore stand point we still don't know its history, how sea stone is made, the Kozuki clan’s history and connections with Zou and government, why Wano is closed off, why it was called the country of Gold, why Toki jumped 800 years ago, Kaido's knowledge of Joy Boy, Zunesha connection to Momo and Wano. You would think an arc that lasted four years and over 150 chapters would have answered some of these by now but nope.

Oda made a lot of shitty decisions in Wano.

I don't hate him or One Piece for it. Obviously I won't always like everything but prime Oda could have done much better.

Luffy won't end the fight with one big punch no just kidding he will lol....

It was a good final punch though but Oda's been pranking the fans all arc its just getting old now.

We aren't even out of Wano yet. Act 3 isn't even over. Wait for the ending.

Death is coming soon. I expect Kinemon to die, now... and Zoro still has to kill Kaido. I think Kaido dies twice, though. Black Beard will use Moria to kill then resurrect Zombie Kaido, and then use ZK to try and kill the remaining Wano forces resisting/Big Mom and Luffy.

Oda and Shounen have to realize that the majority of One Piece's audience are long-timers and not kids anymore. One Piece continues to be made for children, in fact this work is more childlike than ever.

I want this announcement to be a hiatus after Wano.

I honestly want Oda to remake the Wano War arc
I really hate how he rushed and skip the others for Luffy's fight
Drake, Hawkins, Killer, Zoro, Sanji, Kid, Law, Jinbe, Tobiroppo, the rest of the Straw Hats, Marco, Izo, Big Mom, Peros, CP0, Orochi, the Calamities, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi are all rushed, skipped, and wasted because it seems that Oda really wanted to rush into the Majin Buu G5 fights
The only one that Oda didn't waste so much aside from the Scabbards is probably Nami, which we all knew already that she's like his special golden chick
