I guess that's why he also receives hate here, he's far more popular than everyone's favourite antagonists. This makes people bitter. Especially people who hate Luffy, don't like Katakuri's face turn because that makes him more likeable to most casual fans.

To be fair I do think Kat has the potential to become a top tier given his powers (CoC, FS and great fruit mastery) + Genes (Son of a Yonko) but nothing hes shown so far says he is so Ndule is jumping the gun lmao.

I think I understand a bit now, I almost started disliking Zoro around the time of the height of ZKK (back when I felt It was a crazy theory) and people were bringing up Zoro and wanking him /comparing him to everyone and their mother even in chapters that had nothing to do with him. So I guess its similar here where Kat keeps being brought up and overwanked? I myself didnt end up disliking Zoro though cause he still is a great character but I do get it now.

by this logic every single top tier without fs can't beat him and we nowadays see guys like Kaido treat it as a joke.

Yeah he was. But in all fairness, this was during wano so there was still a good amount of recency bias with it.

If it weren't for Yamatrash and furries being dedicated to an unhealthy degree, he'd be in the top 10 in the worldwide poll. Unheard of for an antagonist.
