Can you say that about the fights in Post-TS? Last time I felt heavy emotions when Luffy defeated his enemy was Enies Lobby. Post-TS doesn't evoke that feeling in me anymore even though fights are much grander and flashier, it doesn't have same gravitas as most of Pre-TS fights. I recently read Alabasta Arc in manga, Luffy vs Crocodile is better than all of the fights in Post-TS in my opinion.
General & Others Why has One Piece failed so miserably in the West?

Its been a while since i read Harry Potter but Cedric was literally THE GUY in my favourite book of the series (4th one). He was the most talented young wizard in the world. At worst he can be compared to Law, at best to Ace. He wasnt a nobody but a true prodigy.
And all those that died like Sirius, Snape, Moody, Barry Crouch Sr and Jr, Quirell, Bill and Charlie Weasley, Dumbledore, Lupin were of top level. They would be Yonko commanders or Shichibukai in One Piece. Perhaps one or two of them "only" were New World veteran level but at least they were of high pedigree. Dumbledore of course would be Whitebeard, WSM but old age got them.
Anyhow, One Piece really has failed in this department. Merry should have been the first victim in Syrup Village like in OPLA. I think the series would have been much better had Dorry died, a clear signal that says Welcome to The Grand Line. No more fun and games, even giants can be killed. Pell obviously should have died. At least one or two Strawhats as well during the journey.

Maybe I remember wrong, but I remember Cedric a Mary Sue that everybody was saying how cool he was, but the actual character was almost non existant, no arc, no nothing. He is just there to be cool and eventually die. And he has no arc just because somebody had to die, but it had to be an irrelevant character so that children would not be sad, and the same is for One Piece. He has even less depth than Pedro.
And I still believe your comparison to be wrong. All the characters that you are listing died in the last book or in the last pages of the penultimate book.

So the same as Bleach or One Piece? As I said, many fights are like that but some fights are more tactical and the setups are more interesting like Deathmask or Aphrodite so the fights as a whole are slightly better than Bleach or One Piece.
1. Isn't Marineford mixed? Some people like it but others do not? I dislike it and I think it shows some of Oda's worsts traits. Whitebeard was introduced with close to 0 buildup. He wasn't part of the story beforehand. Then Oda has to do a massive sob story flashback to get us to care about him. His MO was that he loved his pirate family but because Oda added the illness to him that cheapened his actions. As for Ace's death, the introduction of Sabo cheapened that. There were no good fights. So overall nothing really happened at Marineford. It was basically filler.

One Piece is very popular in the west idk you're talking about. Look at the success of the live action for instance. It wouldn't have even got made if it wasn't popular in the west. It was not quite as popular as Naruto or Bleach back in the day, but the fan based has grown significantly over the years.
Have you read the manga? I think its pretty great.
Bleach's Bankai, One Piece's Devil Fruits (not Haki), and JoJo's Stands are roughly the same because they give characters the ability to manipulate something but only Araki is good at writing fights that utilize these powers strategically.

I'll give you a rewrite of Marineford without Whitebeard.
Ace is still in charge of the Spade pirates. Blackbeard captures Ace just like before because he's the real pirate hunter and this is still consistent with his current actions like capturing Bonny. Luffy goes to Impel Down to save Ace and then escapes with Croc and Ivankov and arrives at Marineford. But without the Whitebeard Pirates, Luffy and his new pirate crew fights all battles to save Ace and get to the platform. So essentially the entire arc is the same without Whitebeard. The only thing he does is 1) praise luffy as the chosen one, 2) give Blackbeard a power-up and 3) give us a sob story so we can feel bad when he dies but at the cost of denying luffy and his new crew fights. He is a net negative and he is an example of Wano-syndrome before Wano.
Himeno was fine because there was some character development with Denji, not be so desperate to get sex, and her death set the tone that in this story anyone can die and that has been consistent throughout the story.
Reze was a acceptable arc twist. oh this normal girl is actually the enamy. I think Reze was supposed to teach Denji about choosing his friends wisely and not simping but I'm not sure if that character development happened.
Makima was also supposed to be character development for Denji,be independent, but it doesn't seem like that has occurred so that's a let down.
But all 3 characters actually interacted with Denji and there were plot points with them. Meanwhile Whitebeard just appears, has a pep talk with Luffy cuz chosen one, does some flashy attacks and dies. okay.... If you can't see that Whitebeard's writing was a tier or 2 below CSM, idk what to say.
