General & Others Why I love these characters

I actually wrote that list as joke I wasn't serious at all.

Though I still like doflamingo sadistic side but I understand what you're saying. Orochi as a villain is a perfect example of a well written villain that you love to hate.

If I understand correct, your type of a great villain like Crocodile who you not supposed to cheer against the MC but he is so good as a villain that you liked to hate him during Alabasta. and when he lost to Luffy you could feel sense of happiness for that.
Nah
Crocodile I like him not because of Alabasta
Rather I enjoyed his alabasta time same level as mingo

But I loved him more during Impel down/Marineford where he turned from villain into a supporting antagonist who saved Luffy twice... Luffy and Jinbe owe a lot to Crocodile!
Post automatically merged:

Orochi is not a good villain because I just want him gone. Not defeated, not battled, gone from existence. Boring and uninteresting.
He doesn't even deserve something as hate, he just has zero personality.
Perfect
Put more screentime on him Oda and let this viewer suffer Lol

They do and what a coincidence Luffy needs a Logia in his crew and no one fits better than Crocodile though its far from happening.

I know for sure he's coming back to play a major role with the strawhat's journey in future. We still need to know his secret with Ivankov.

In short my faves:

1) Law:
I love intelligent characters, and to top that he has some balls. Even though he is not the strongest around, he was more than willing to get in Doffy's and Kaido's way, even before Luffy was in the picture. His backstory is compelling, yet despite that he didn't turn evil. Orphans are my soft spot. And Law's soft spot are actually silly people, proved with who he likes being around - his crew and Straw Hats. His relationship with Corazon and Doffy is by far the most interesting in all of One Piece. He wants revenge against Doffy, but he also has a sense of gratitude for growing up with them. He picked up a lot of Doffy's traits.

2) Shanks:
What's better than a badass character that isn't always serious? His laid-back nature is the best, and he's got the brains to back it up (unlike Luffy). Despite little panel time, he's a clear favourite.

3) Doffy:
Need I say more? He's evil in a playful way, yet he has a human side to him. Nothing in this manga was ever as telling as him waking up after a nightmare.

4) Nami:
Yes yes, it got a bit worse post skip, but I need to have a female lead to love. Her backstory is one of my faves as well. The constant struggle for survival is her main characteristic since she was little, and I think that even in real life this is the most important lesson: keep fighting no matter what. Also, I love her fist of love on the boys. She is the glue of the Monster Trio.

5) Zoro:
Perhaps the deepest thinker of all the Straw Hats. Most mature when someone needs to be. His motivations make perfect sense. He doesn't discriminate based on gender and he is very adamant about it. No need to praise him anymore since this forum is so full of it.

There are many more, but alas

I'd love to see a new interaction between Crocodile and Robin

Specially that Crocodile was basically "healing" during his time in Paradise before Luffy came and woke him up by a beating!

Crocodile views during alabasta:
- Never trusted anyone since the beginning, said to robin after stabbing her

- He was interested in Nami's tust to Luffy saying that "your crew puts a lot of faith in you"

- He viewed weak people as sinful... he even viewed mr. 3 as useless at one time

- He told Luffy that the more you sail he seas, the more you realize that your "pirate king" dreams is out of resch or something like that it's impossible (taking into account his loss to WB)

Now, compare that Crocodile to Marinefrd Crocodile:

- when Mr.3 came in clutch against Magellan, he said, you never know when an ability user becomes useful...

- The opponents he was defeated by "Luffy or WB" he has great respect to them as individuals...

- His scene with WB was one of the most iconic turning point in his views... he saw the person who scarred him and made him lurk in Paradise, gets stabbed easily by an ally, his views was so shattered that he snapped for the first time, blaming WB for getting stabbed by squardo...

- He was so angry that it was even done by dirty tactics from marines that he turned sides and started facig WG... basically (a dirty player who played dirty as villain) hated dirty tactics, and he turned sides because of it...

- When he saved Luffy/Jinbe, he said "when you want to protect someone, do it right, don't let these bastards get more than what they got"

After Marineford, he told Daz Bones "My scars are already healed, and as proof, I'm heading to the new world"

What I love about Crocodile is the GROWTH in his character with journey as a rookie shochibukai entering new world, to his losses, goig back to paradise, then Luffy waking him up with a beating, then from Impel down till the end of marieford is Crocodile collecting pieces of his past self to regain his former self which he let go once!

Pure awesomeness

His growth in Impel Down and Marineford is as you said Awesome.

Its going to be nice to see Robin's reactions too once they meet again. You can tell that Crocodile's past shaped his character that we;ve seen in Alabasta but I have a feeling that he wasn't always bad and his past that Iva spoke about and his past with Whitebeard made be the way he was

Yeah I agree
Also, the fact that Oda still didn't reveal his past (and Iva connection) means he'll have a role in future for sure...
unless Oda decides to be stupid writer and reveals in in databook/SBS instead of manga itself

Most likely if he plays a role in the future then we will see his past cuz it will be connected to the reasons why he will playing that role.

The thing about Crocodile is he has two stories in his past, one with Iva and the other with Whitebeard and maybe both are connected to each other and resulted in him trying to obtain Pluton.
