why Imu needs Marines in first place ?
I am sure whatever Dark Magic Imu uses has limits . For Dorry and Brofgy to even become his allies means Imu needs to create devil contract with them either forcibly with their blood that would mean risk of exposing themselves to people .

If I'm reading right, Imu says the transformation grants a short lifespan in exchange for power. He wants to maintain his authority long-term which is why he's not doing this to every asset available to him (marines, GK, ect). The giants just need to help them win the war, after that they are disposable.
