When the author is paying so much attention to the RL series, it means that his view of what make his show amazing is a failure to the audience eyes.

If Dragon Ball Evolution didn't kill Toriyama's reputation as a mangaka then a middling Live Action adaptation of One Piece ain't going to ruin Oda.

Was Toriyama part of the group who made the movie? I don't think so because in the imbd triva. It states that he was rejected with any creative ideas and all his suggestions ideas were mute.
