I imagine when the SHs will get to fight the BB Pirates Oda might portray extremely intense fights and build hype.

There's a possibility Zoro will have to defeat Shiryu more easily in order to assist Luffy but it's remote imo.

For me the BB pirates will only be a thread if Zoro ends up fighting Aokiji, I mean the other titanic captain won't match up to Zoro because of the strength gap

I think thats the cool thing about BB's crew is he probably doesn't have a firstmate or second strongest. His strongest crewmate could be anybody from Saun juan wolf to laffitte.

The story clearly implies Shiryu is the 2nd or 3rd strongest if we include Aokiji, the original crew are not up to standard.

I mean I dont mind Zoro walking through Shiryu but Oda doesnt give Zoro an opponent who cant put up a fight.
I think Shiryu is plenty strong even without his fruit. With it and possible Awakening, he becomes very dangerous.
And when Zoro decides to end someone, it's over anyway, only Kaido managed to slip away due to circumstances...

Plot.

Zoro to have the most vicious and difficult Sword fight would have to be someone who he has animosity towards.

Right now Zoro and Mihawk have no aminosity towards one another not like it was when Mihawk had just beat him.

Add onto the fact Blackbeard is likely to kill/defeat Shanks it only makes sense that Shiryu who is likely the second strongest is also being hyped up.

Shiryu killing Mihawk boys prepare for it.

if plot demands luffy to fight blackbeard as his peak fight, plot demands zoro to also be that.
Except maybe if greenbull is a somewhat stronger swordman, but he has 0 sword related feat

Actually luffy is not trying to surpass shanks, he is trying to surpass roger end of series. And also I will say this shiyru is not even stronger than current zoro or sanji.

Mihawk will two or three shot shiyru.
Based on potrayal and hype from whitebeard and kizaru and akainu at marineford for mihawk

Never got it myself tbh. He has never really impressed on any level but I guess it's the fact that he's a future Zoro oponnent after a YC1, common anime logic tells you he must be stronger than that.

He surely is tricky and dirty af.
