Questions & Mysteries Why is Zoro much more relevant than Luffy to the fandom?

Ah.. You misunderstand me. In my not humble opinion, placing such complex emotions at the very end, when its been neglected for years on end. Is not a masterpiece in my book
It hasn't been neglected though, they have always been there.
The idea of him becoming freest man in the world is fundamentally extremely complex.
What do you think Luffy wants to do to become freest man in the world, literally take everyone down in his way and he is completely unapologetic about it.

I know the questions have always been there (by parts of the fandom) But asking them at the very end is not what I'd consider good.
Either way I very much doubt they will be asked at all

Another fucking fantastic game for the Switch is Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. @Sentinel knows what's up.
One of the 5 best JRPG games imo.
I thought Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was great but holy shit, XBC is a masterpiece full of interesting plottwists, funny gameplay, cool and beautiful looking overworld, incredible music and a proper difficulty!

When playing XBC2 completely, XBC is even more interesting due to the given information in XBC2 but I obviously won't spoil that stuff lol.

When your unbiased and sure of your character, you don't have to waste time hyping them up with false feats. You know the story is about Luffy, up to this point Luffy as all the attention, feat, momentum. Whats the point wasting time wondering this or that?

Zoro/Sanji/others fans are insecure Zoro fans more so. Just look at how riled up they get... they hype him even if it ends up hurting his character. They don't care about his character, they only care about what he can do for them to hype. Incredibly selfish fan base

Thats my take on it. Agree or don't but I have seen enough to form this opinion

No but it has been established through Luffy though right?
He is unapologetic about taking down everyone in his path to ultimate freedom, doesn't consider himself a hero.
Complexity has always been there with Luffy.

.. I've heard things like that before, and at one point I'm pretty sure I agreed with it. But it feels completely derailed at this point for me. Fallen by the wayside

I mean I agree with your sentiment.
Oda is rather lazy when it comes to establishing things. I can try to convince you all I want reality is Luffy is complex only upon analysis of his character but it hasn't been concretely reiterated in manga.

It's kinda difficult...

There are moments in which Zoro was much more impressive than Luffy which you can see from the reactions of the people, ie. TB when Zoro was nearly sacrificing his entire life to protect his captain and the crew, without TELLING THEM WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR THEM. BADASSERY OVER 8000.

But then we have Luffy fucking punching a celestial dragon bcoz that scum was shotting one of his friends.
Of course there was a cool moment of Zoro as well when he nearly killed that pig, easily dodging the bullets with a pure bloodlust ready to behead that absolute shit. But Luffy actually managed to punch that human trash straight on his fucking face.

I'd say both Zoro and Luffy are extremely loved from the fandom and of course there are moments in which each of them outclasses the other one - which just shows their importance regarding the fandom.

Currently, Zoro gets a lot of attention due to the current arc which extremely fits his character, his ambitions and style.

But I remember the good WCI time, there were lots of threads about Luffy either soloing Katakuri or beating Big Mom this arc. I think there was even a huge thread about Luffy soloing Big Mom, or not?

I think you are right in everything I said, I would just add to that what @Sadistic Senpai said, which is Zoro's association with Sanji.

On top of that Zoro's association with Mihawk and Mihawk and Shanks fiasco.
So Zoro is linked to two sects of One Piece fandom that are extremely passionate and often toxic.

Where as Luffy's record is clean in that regard.

Eh, you kinda have to throw Nami in there too. It might not come up as much in the manga anymore, but the crew would be lost on the seven seas if she wasn't there
And the ones you didn't mention are still good for firepower.
And I'm curious, why is Brook not replacable?
Because Luffy wanted a muscian and brook is the only DEAD musician alive which adds flavor to the crew. He’s a special case.

cause they lost to Luffy fandom a long long time ago and they can never win

Zoro is not more relevant for story or fandom and he never won a popularity poll while Luffy won every single one

so ... in short ... he just have louder fans
