I was cool with Luffy and Ace parallels. I mean, Luffy inherited his will at Marineford and dedicated Red Hawk to his brother so I don't see the problem. It helps Yamato and Luffy have a connection pretty quickly so things proceed quicker and I don't mind. I enjoyed the Ace flashback as well.

Luffy getting up from attacks isn't new. As for him learning (Advanced/to apply) Conqueror's haki, I prefer it over the Future Sight one. Atleast Luffy specialises in Conqueror's haki and we've seen him clear thousands of dudes with it. Him learning to apply it after taking a Conqueror's haki infused Thunder Bagua then contemplating on it is understandable and isn't the most out-of-nowhere power-up. Perhaps the jump in strength is a lot but Luffy could already damage Kaido before it then he has this on top of everything else.

Didn't Luffy say he'll beat Kaido then come back for Big Mom? I recall him saying that at Whole Cake then reiterating in Wano. Big Mom's the one chasing him, he made it clear Kaido is his primary target this arc. No need for Oda to brush that aside so that Luffy doesn't focus on the arc villain.

"Pre-time skip, Luffy was a charm. A great character even. He knew when he was out of his league. He knew when he was incapable. But mostly, the plot did not cater him such as a mother's teat to a baby."

Do you remember Luffy facing Aokiji between Skypea and Enies Lobby? Do you remember he facing Magellan? He facing BlackBeard that defeated Ace(stronger than him for sure)? He facing Marineford and trying to be on equal foot with WB?

I agree with everything but that.

Also, Luffy pre-timeskip had good moments but overall was always a thrash character with literally no development. Luffy from chapter 1 is the same of any other chapter.

no wonder why you're crying with that self-centered egotistical subjective lunacy

they are not Monkey D. Luffy... and not everyone who has biases for them votes others as well... like i said majority of the fanbase likes luffy by default and will vote for him with their biased character.. or they just consider luffy to be a 🐐🐐 which is true either way.. since he is the crux to his crews development
Sorry bro, majority of the fanbase actually dropped One Piece. That is the reallity. People don't like Luffy(main character) otherwise wouldn't have dropped.

... the majority isn't Worst gen mate.

some of the worst Onepiece fans i have ever seen

and the reason why people drop the series here coz their fantasies can't come true...
and busy whining about what they want and appreciate less of what oda portrays..

and the propagation and forcing of subjective opinions down people throat just form ridges in the community and disrupt how other people feel about it.

Dude I'm talking about Japanese. One Piece sales going downhill since after Marineford. Worst OP fans are the ones defending this shitty writting from Oda lately, since WCI aka Worst Arc Ever.

how are they the worst onepiece fans when they support the series...

and again its you subjective option that oda's writing has been trash... but WCI has been welcomed everywhere.. some of the most liked and viewed episodes are of WCI.
and people are still here seeing onepiece unfold further..

you can't generalize your opinions

7 milion sales is a joke for a manga that already had 38mi sale in a year. I know at that time people were buying previous chapters and now they aren't so much. OP won a lot of fans at that time so I take that in consideration.
And with that in consideration, OP now that should have keep the fans from that time and won more over time but this is not happening since sales per volume were the greatest at FISHMEN ISLAND ARC! That is right (https://www.comicsbeat.com/one-piece-set-record-with-2-million-sold-in-4-days/) Volume 63 sold over 2mi in just 4 DAYS. Nowadays it takes the whole year for a new volume to sell that amount.
So yeah, OP dropped quality and lost fans.

And he's failing because you in particular don't like it? You know most people love this arc, right?
Most people dropped OP even before this arc. That is reality.

Don't dodge my question buddy. You just said he's failing at execution in this arc, your reasoning is because you don't like it or what? Because volume ratings online are pretty good.

Also, OP sales declined since Marineford because it was living off the Marineford hype wave, like how Kimetsu is living off the Ufotable wave. That has nothing to do with the arc's quality in particular. If anything OP has maintained the most sales per volume for the longest period of time, a decade.

As far as your sales = quality goes, are you also admitting every series that hasn't sold as much as OP is trash compared to it?

Don't even compare OP to Kimetsu. Kimetsu is another dimesion compared to OP. 80 mi in a year makes 38 from OP look like a joke.

If you write a history to yourself and you liked it will have a good rating. As I said OP fans are dropping so only the fans that like LITERALLY anything Oda writes are rating good. But less fans are rating, just keep that in mind.

And no, I'm saying if it's dropping sales it is getting worse. You don't have to be big to be good, but if you are losing sales then you are getting worse.

How about you quit it with your higher floor bullshit and just answer my question? It is the same case and Kimetsu is losing sales. Nothing will change that fact, however that doesn't mean Kimetsu is getting worse, its the same with other manga. Its the same with OP. I made an example. Its called a fad, which Marineford was. Enies Lobby also had the worst sales before the timeskip but its still regarded as one of the best arcs in One Piece.

I'm saying if it's dropping sales it is getting worse
Not all fans are "dropping it", its a long series affected by many factors. Like less and less people buying the volumes since its so big and opting for the digital versions and piracy since catching up is a pain in the ass with a truckload of volumes.

Again, One Piece has consistently maintained the most sales in such a long period of time. Look at Kimetsu which has already lost a bunch of sales. You seem to underestimate how every series falls its peak in terms of sales.

If you write a history to yourself and you liked it will have a good rating
Lmao what are you saying? That's a fact, the current volume sales are great. You can't even justify your "bad execution" argument.

Again, I'm repeating my question, if you think Sales = Quality, are you admitting OP is still better than 99.9% of the manga out there since that's what's going on with the sales?

I'll repeat this question over and over until you answer it, since you just said that OP isn't even comparable to Kimetsu as it had better sales.

That is not how one should deduce whether OP lost fans or not.. you aren't taking pirated chapters into consideration since the world had digitally grown so much..even after that, OP sales had still been fairly consistent with these manga sales and will surely loose those sales as chapters shift from hard copies to digital platforms which are an alternative being used by the vast numbers out there... this switch from hard copies to digital doesn't provide any logical rationale statistically that OP had lost followers on not.

In addition to that, OP was at its climax during 2009-2010 with Marine Ford War in play back in the days so that certainly would attract hype for a title this infamous...
The story was at its apex for 3 consecutive arcs and the progression was insane.. this same pace was impeccably transitioned to the timeskip which slowed in increments for half a decade. Then there is external competition with other mangas and again digital chapters being dominant that would ought decrease volume sales with the platform the likes of VIZ.

Other statistical and arbitrary reasons why you see decline are sensibly as follows:

you see even with such low volumes the sales have been consistent throughout when you compare and contrast between the Old volumes and new volumes as a whole..

the new volumes have performed exceptionally consistently.. and have seen growth.

The sales are going down because Marineford was a hype peak. Its similar with Kimetsu.

If you want Japanese fan opinions you can just look at their reviews on Amazon or twitter.

:endthis:
The Japanese amazon opinions aren't great. All the top reviews of the most recent volume are negative, claiming Oda's dragging the arc, wasting time etc.

And what's happening with OP is not in any way comparable to Kimetsu. KnY sales increased every volume and it finished at its peak. OP's individual volumes don't even sell 2 mil anymore
