Character Discussion Why Teach is the worst pirate

#1
While pirates aren't considered moral by conventional standards, almost every pirate we have seen has some sort of code.

We see this from the yonko. Shanks is loyal to his friends. BM is loyal to people who feed her and hates those who hurt children. Kaido idealizes strength rewards it by breaking the wills of strong pirates and bringing them over to his crew.

There is however, one pirate who has shown to have absolutely zero morality whatsoever. That pirate is Blackbeard.

From the Oden flashback, we learned that Teach was an orphan who joined the WBP 28 years ago, when he would have been just 12 years old. Whitebeard was literally Teach's father. He adopted Teach when he was a young boy and basically raised him as a son.

And how did Teach repay him?

He betrayed him in the worst possible way.

Throughout the series, Teach is the only pirate portrayed in such a way. While others, like Kid or Dolamingo, might kill civilians. They are at least loyal to their crew, unless said crew betrays them. Yet WB never betrayed Teach. He literally picked him up off the streets and gave him a better life, only for Teach to stab him in the back by killing Thatch, turning Ace over to the marines, and ultimately killing WB.

All of this shows that Teach cares about nobody but himself. He wants power and he will do anything to obtain it, even if it means sacrificing the people who love and care for him. This is why out of all of the pirates we have seen in One Piece, Teach is by far the worst.

Yeah.

There is a theory on Youtube about some standards a Conquers haki user must have, and explains why Teach wont have it.

One of them, is honor, all the emperors fights and do anything following their rules, for example Luffy might say that in a pirate fight there is no rules, yet he wont cheat to win since he wont feel right.

The same for Kaido, he till date (or when he died) has regrets winning against Oden due help of the old lady, reason he killed her after that incident, he doesnt feel he won, since there is no rules but he needs to prove to be the strongest in a 1 vs 1.

Conquers vs Cheaters, Teach is the best amd strongest cheater, he will reach the top without conquers haki and with no honor, the opposite of Luffy.

That's why he's the goat
Pirates in this goof comic you mean. A real life pirate would rape your family in front of you and they would laugh at you.

Teach is an "okay" pirate but he's not evil.
Nah Teach is definitely evil

The thing about Big Mom is really ridiculous. She's already burned down entire countries when they couldn't pay the candy tribute.
Yeah

if you support her, she loves you. But if you leave or can’t pay, she destroys you.

Still more moral than Teach killing his parent for no reason whatsoever(I get BM did that too but at least on accident).

Teach is a normal pirate even with One Piece standards. Thats you lack reading comprehension as you thought Garp and Teach doesn't have CoC, and now still being a butthurt Teach hater. :rolaugh:

Don Krieg, Kuro, Hody Jones, they can always kill their own men if its necessary. Kuro's own men Nyaban brothers tried to kill Kuro when they thought they become stronger than Kuro, thats the laws pirate world, only strongest leads.

Doflamingo tried to get Bellamy killed and before that he told Monet to kill herself.

Crocodile tried to kill Galdino.

Giving example from Big mom only shows your lack of reading comprehension, Big mom killed even her own son when she get hungry.

Even Kaido (essentially he is soft hearted) killed a beast pirate before as well when he was drunk.

Even Buggy killed his own men in his manga debut.

Teach killed Thatch then he said yes it was a crime but he had no choice, implying that Thatch already ate the Darkness logia DF, so the only way to take it back he had to finish him.

Then Teach while holding back, captured Ace while Ace was trying to kill him, instead of delivering Ace's corpse, Teach delivered Ace alive, what did you expect Teach to do vs Ace? Surrender to Ace? Give him back to WB pirates? LOL.

Teach himself said this he delivered Ace alive and WB still failed.

Its on WB, he failed to stop Ace then couldn't save him when Teach gave WB a chance to save Ace by delivering him alive. Teach wanted Ace in his crew but Ace refused.

WB was getting weaker, its pirate law that strongest should replace the weaker pirate. Teach replacing WB is law of nature. Stop crying about WB already lmao. WB himself probably betrayed Xebec, who knows what happened when they fought Roger and Garp.

Teach's only reason for joining the Whitebeard Pirates was to get the Yami Yami fruit, so there's actually no betrayal, they were just careless and didn't know Teach was their enemy. A true betrayal would be if Teach was a legit WB pirate member and then changed his mind later on because of the fruit.

He is the most pirate-like character in One Piece. And for that I dislike him so much.

People like Whitebeard will always be greater in my eyes.

Teach literally murdered his dad for power and took everything from him.

He’s an absolute scumbag and the worst pirate. Given how that’s what he’s supposed to be, idk why you’re conflating that as hatred on my part.

Bro betrayed his entire family

for a pg-13 manga like OP, that’s the most evil you’ll get

Big Mom is a warped, deranged woman tbh, she sent her army to burn a country just because they didn't pay her with sweets

Kaido enslaved a country for 2 decades to death

But BB is more vile than them, the two might have some shred of morals left, BB has no morals

Excellent post. Reminded me of this video I had watched before, have you seen it?

That is the reason why Whitebeard said that Blackbeard is "not the man Roger was waiting on". Blackbeard is strong, but the fact that he is a cheater means he simply does not have strong enough will to change the world, to become the Joyboy. He is in fact anti-Joyboy, relying on cheating - and not just outright cheating, but also focusing on Devil Fruits over Haki, for example (remember what Kaido said, "Haki rules the seas?" BB pirates over-rely on devil fruits, a point that Whitebeard made back in Marineford).

They both hate cheating. Remember how Kaido went ballistic when CP helped him against Luffy, or Big Mom when that girl got hurt?
