Character Discussion Why Zoro still remains the Best Straw Hat

I don't have a problem with him being extremely loyal to Luffy. It's just the constant glazing in moments like the King fight as @ZenZu stated which pisses me off. Loyalty was one of Zoro's best attributes because while he was extremely loyal, he was also his own guy calling out Luffy's bad decisions keeping him in check. He was loyal to Luffy's success but he was also keeping it real instead of blind loyalty following stupid decisions.

Zoro is just like every other pirate underling lackey, this was paralleled with King literally in the same fight.

Also Zoro is one of the first characters introduced and he’s really cool so from the start, he attracts people and stays along for the ride so they’re less likely to let him go as their favourite character as opposed to someone who appears later but isn’t as prevalent.
Zoro was a great character pre-TS who regressed into a non character post-TS who’s practically a Luffy glazer and an aura farmer. It’s sad considering he was phenomenal at one point in terms of writing but oda is a fraud so oh well
