Black Blades are canonically the most elite blades in existence, they are in a different realm altogether. If a Kitchen Knife is made into a black blade, it is more elite than a supreme grade blade. That's literally the fact of the matter. Of course the likelihood of that happening is 0%.
I'm going to use DB as an example. You have transformations like Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 and 3. You could call these Skilful, Great and Supreme Grade respectively.
If a Skillfull grade blade is made black, it's like a Super Saiyan undergoing the God ritual and attaining God Ki. No SSJ2 or 3 (Great or Supreme) would hold a candle to them, they would not even be able to sense God Ki, being mortal.
The narrative has told us that despite the quality of the blade you possess, which was forged by a blacksmith, a swordsman has to forge his black blade, so it is something that has to be created and earned over numerous battles.
I don't think most of you understand the implication of Mihawk not having made Yoru black means. You joke about this but as people have said in this thread, a sword chooses it's user, and then the swordsman has to tame it.
We know "Cursed blades" aren't actually cursed, they are just high quality blades that will test their users to see if they are worthy. And if you aren't worthy, it goes badly, and so you have tales of "cursed blades" and previous owners dying.
Yoru, a Supreme Grade made black, the most elite blade in existence, chooses Mihawk over: WB, Roger, Xebec, Big mom, Garling, Shanks, Dhanks, Shiki, Fujitora, Greenbull, the list goes on.
And then Mihawk tames the blade and essentially passes the test, like how Zoro passed Enma testing him.
Is this really what you want to imply?
And if you want to say that Yoru is simply suited best to Mihawks personality or something like that, it doesn't change the fact that the Strongest Blade still chose Mihawk, the current WSS. Either way he earned it.
Making it black or not, it goes in line with what we know about Mihawk relentlessly fighting opponents, and being world renowned even before the Great Pirate Era.
If someone just Eats, fights, sleeps, repeats, you would expect them who is obsessed with swordsmanship more than anyone else, to forge a black blade. Whereas Yonko's have territory's to manage, and crews and all this political shit Mihawk doesn't care about.
Ryuuma took it more seriously than anyone in Wano too, his mentality that if you accidently do the equivalent on stepping on someone's toe, someone's sword making contact with yours, well according to him you gotta die now.
The main similarity between Mihawk and Ryuuma, is their tenacity.
If you're a Yonko or in a government position, that tenacity could manifest in different ways, Awakening, Haki etc. It's being teased that Black blades aren't just to do with haki.
