It depends a lot on how luffy responds to this
will he assume he is lacking in one or more components like he did with ryou, a new gear, in order to defeat kaido and take him down on his own.(a crocodile 2.0 )
or will he assume his oversight was getting rid of the support he had on the roof with the other sns .
will kaido let everyone else know luffy has lost , if he does , that spurs the others into action (yes they believe in luffy but realize he needs more support than they thought)
Issue is law kid killer seem to be targeting other matchups now so we are left with yamato and zoro the other two with reasons to join this battle. it will make no sense if he teams-up with say yamato and he is entirely fine with that while he got rid of the other two (zoro and law) .that would mean he is entirely fine with either returning. as far as the king speculation, they have seen each other and neither expressed the urge to engage
these factors make it hard to predict and is why I wont write these possibilities out
its either luffy wants to take him out in the 1 v 1 that he thought he would in ch 1010 to break the "1 on 1 bet on kaido" quote
or oda decides to keep that intact and has luffy take down kaido with the support of some allies in which case I see no reason why he shouldnt cross paths with kaido again.
while the scar is a great feat
zoro looked hardly satisfied with how effective it was
still has not been compared to the monster samurai kaido talked about
kaido has yet to acknowledge luffy as a someone on a respectable footing which shows this fights is far from over, he still believes the outcome of the fight was never in doubt. "you are not on my level". These things have to be addressed before the war is over.
Zoro fighting king is simply pattern matching
n2 strawhats n2 beast pirates
narratives reasons have to be set for it to hold any stake
then there's orochi where the narrative is there but he lacks the strength to truly feel satisfying
defeating king wouldnt make zoro feel better about how well he did on the roof.the possibility he has to go back there to help his captain went up again the moment luffy also failed after a bit of a struggle with kaido.
tldr ; I wouldnt count it out and a king fight is doubtful.
