Future Events Will Big Mom go through another change of personnality ?

After the amnesia plot during which she reverted temporary to her original kind and helpful personnality do you think that Charlotte Linlin aka Big Mom may go through another episode with her having a change of personnality for the sake of helping the situation of the Straw Hats ?

If yes when will it happens ? What could cause it ? Would it be temporary again or permanent this time ?

To be honest, I think Oda is playing at something here. Back during WCI, I made a theory that part of Mother Caramel's soul is still lingering within Big Mom, and that's why we see her go through these drastic mood swings. Whatever people might say about the amnesia plotline, I think it served a much bigger purpose than to just get her to help the Straw Hats for a little bit.

When she got amnesia, we actually saw the same Big Mom from when she was a child. Yeah she was still self centered and could get angry, but the key difference is, there was no malice or bloodlust behind her anger. It was so tame in fact that Queen actually stood up to her, and fought her. But when she got her memories back, all it took was a single glare from Big Mom, and he was pissing his pants.

So far we've see three versions of Big Mom.

1) Hunger Pangs - Always Bloodlusted
2) Amnesia - Happy go lucky, without a care in the World
3) Base - A mixture between the two.

With that being said, I think Big Mom's next "change in personality" is one where she completely reverts back to the Big Mom from her youth, which is the one we saw when she had amnesia, but in this regard she'll still keep her memories. Oda has placed way to much emphasis on Big Mom's emotional state throughout the last two arcs for him not to bring it to some sort of conclusion.

By the way, I was just thinking about making a thread on this subject the other day, and then completely forgot. Funny how it worked out that you made one, and it reminded me.

You know she will, its been set up too much already. Chopper/tama/kiku will trigger her childlike memories and she willl somehow remember what she did to carmel and the other kids. Then somehow chopper cures her and she joins mugis against kaido. Thats my take.

Yea, that would be kinda trash if she just reverts to her Olin form....just way to convenient. Big Moms a freaking emperor of the sea she deserves to go out on her shield.
With all the emphasis that Oda has placed on Big Mom's mental state, it would be trash if there wasn't some sort of payoff at the end of it all. You don't invest that much time and energy into a specific aspect of a character, only to have it mean nothing in the end. I'd rather have the whole "Weeeeddddddiiiiiinnnnnng Caaaaaakkkke" and Amnesia plot lines have a deeper meaning and actually amount to something, rather than they were just there as plot devices to spare the Straw Hats from being killed on multiple occasions.

Oh that shit is coming back guaranteed.

I think Oda intends to take Big mom out of the throne war here in Wano, but without killing here. The Amnesia plot is coming back full circle. Something will trigger it, then she reverts back to her O-lin state permanently, chopper gets rid of her illness and that's it. She returns to WCI and has her paradise built, the only remaining piece was a change of leadership.

Big mom doesn't need another story arc, there's nothing left to work out with Elbaf, they cut all ties with her and she got over it as well.

Well I doubt that Big Mom would stop being one of the most powerful characters in the world even if she reverts to her kinder personnality. If someone threatens or hurt her children after she became nicer and came to really care for her family, subordinates and country I dare not imagine how terrifying she would be in Mama Bear mode.

Oh absolutely she'll still be the powerhouse that she is. That strength was there long before she started showing traits of Jekyll and Hyde, which popped up after she ate everyone. Oda has showed her both aspect of her mentality in full force. Bloodlusted Big Mom with Hunger Pangs, and carefree, happy go lucky Big Mom with amnesia. We never got to see the 'unknown Monster" at her breaking point, because it subsided with eating the wedding Cake. So I fully expect to see her go full on bloodlusted Big Mom to highest extent before switching to O-lin permanently. Or at least that's how I hope it plays out. So we get the absolute worst of her, before the reform.

Oh I imagine that her worst would pales compared to what she would be in protective mother mode when her children and grandchildren are threatened if she reverts to her nice and caring personnality for good.

Please no. Just no. I am sick of Linlin and her forever inconsistent personality. It is already exceedingly difficult to take her seriously as a supposed antagonist. For her to revert to a permanent, childish O Lin state would just be yet another humiliation to her character.

I know some folk are going to say “but plot lines”. Problem is, these plot lines are not worth it. The journey these plot lines have provided has been completely unenjoyable and the payoff will not be worth it in any way whatsoever as it will simply result in a neutered character.

Linlin should never have been involved in Wano’s plot.

my problem isn’t with her dealing with her mental instabilities in fact I think it’s an important and obvious character arc for her, but rather why rehash old plot lines and have here go back to a state of amnesia or here uncontrollable rage. It would be boring to me...especially if it makes her side with the straw hats for some reason.
