The only way for Mihawk’s title to be fake is for a swordsman to be stronger than him
and the only ways For a swordsman to be proven to be stronger than him are
1. The swordsman defeats Mihawk
2. Oda out of verse (as in an SBS or something) directly says This swordsman is stronger than Mihawk
3. Someone who knows the general strength of both swordsmen directly says “this swordsman is stronger than Mihawk”. (This point is very interesting because Zoro exists and Zoro has fought Big mom, Nusjuro, S-Hawk and Fujitora and Zoro has never once ever thought “this swordsman is stronger than Mihawk”. And he was even with Luffy when they both sensed Shanks’ wi-fi haki on Greenbull, and Zoro still has never made a comment on Shanks being stronger than Mihawk even after feeling Shanks’ CoC)

Take all this into account and we are left with mohawk's own word's and actions contradicting with his title.

What do you make of that? Do we discard all the instances he dehyped himself, and take the one instance he hyped himself as the complete and only truth? Or do we go the opposite way and discard the one instance he hyped himself and keep all the times he thought himself weaker?

And By Mihawk’s own admission, he is above every living swordsman on the face of the planet. Above Shanks, Fujitora, Big mom, Nusjuro and Shamrock.
And all the above could be proven wrong the moment Oda says so or at least the moment Oda presents doubt. Which he never has. Not like he has for everyone else. For example Kaido who constantly lies about his own strength and the strength of others, all the time.
