Since Whole Cake Island arc we know that Charlotte Linlin aka Big Mom has been suffering from a very young age from an illness that causes her to goes crazy and out of control when lusting after a certain food, causing her to go on destructive rampages which shaped a lot of her story and caused countless troubles for her crew and family, in particular during the particulary bitter-tasty rampage she had during the second half of WCI arc.
