Vivi being the trigger for the final battle makes sense but knowing Oda he could subvert expectations and having someone else be the trigger instead

Hardly, she was already a damsel in distress in Arabasta (not sure if Oda will have the same princess in that situation again) and Vivi doesn't have the same status Shakky had. (Never underestimate Rescue Piece though, Oda loves these things.)

Well she might because someone has to be the shakky of current era to be a trigger for the final war because even when Luffy learns about the true history (if he's even interested to hear about it) he won't fight imu unless he has a reason to

Sadly she's not nobody wants her that badly imu wants vivi so it makes sense that she be the shakky of the current era than boa her captured will bring the strawhats their grand fleet wano samurai alabasta soldiers etc to pull up for her

I think it will be a subplot in the final arc where they have to save her after Imu kidnaps her but the war happens for other reasons. Simply an added motivation for Luffy.
