Questions & Mysteries Will we ever see Gin again ?

I think about this a lot more than I’d like to admit...even if he did come back, what would be the reason? Luffy/Sanji et al. are leagues more powerful than they were back then, so unless he’s eaten a DF and mastered Haki, he won’t be a discernible threat in a fight; everything I just said applies to his captain as well, who he was still loyal to at their exit; I doubt he’d become an ally, so there’s seemingly little justification for that particular plot line to get resolved.

The only feasible way I could see this coming to pass is if Blackbeard somehow rounded up all of Luffy’s former vanquished foes (this would require a little research on his part but we know he’s capable of doing that), gave them all stolen DFs, and made them part of his fleet. Gin, Krieg, Kuro, even Arlong could all come back way more powerful and once again oppose the Straw Hats in the Final War. Not a scenario I really see as viable, but that’s about the only way any of them could return and have it make a little sense.

Yes. We will see Gin. Oda hasn't forgotten about Gin. It is just that there is no feasible way to integrate Gin into the story right now. But near the very end, it may be possible to do it, specially if Luffy becomes the Pirate King and decides to unite all pirates against the World Government (think I PotC: At World's End).

Gin is friendly, not a foe. I don't see the angle you're coming from as even being relevant

He was antagonistic when he showed up, so I’m not quite sure what’s so hard to understand about a coercive change of heart when you understand a voluntary one. Regardless, I also said that it seemed implausible for a number of reasons, but you could also describe Gin’s return in general that way.

Yes he isn't changing so Oda has no reason to bring him up again

There are plenty of different characters that could spawn up again. I still hope Bon Chan to be one.

Bentham’s coming back regardless, he’s been indispensable every time we’ve seen him. If Gin has also appeared in Impel Down or something, I’d buy the notion he could be important, but there’s no telling how Oda would justify bringing him back now. Would have made more sense for us to see him and (a possibly reformed) Krieg in Paradise, not sure they’re cut from the right cloth to survive in the New World.

Gin definitely has what it takes to survive the New World. You have to remember that Gin was stronger than Sanji when we last saw Gin. So, if Sanji can survive NW, so can Gin. And this is because Gin has the moral compass, the dream and the desire for it.

He definitely seems to have ambition and pride, I’ll give you that. We have no idea how strong he could have become, so I’m willing to renege on that part of what I said. Still, we’re evidently entering the endgame of One Piece, so it’ll soon be time for anyone who’s gonna be involved in the climax to show up...do you believe that Gin has gotten far enough in his journey by now to make an appearance?

Not sure! It's up to Oda I guess. All I know is that Gin will be given panel-time at some point. Even if it is in the epilogue. But I hope that Gin got a good journey. If Bellamy could make it, so can Gin.

Honestly, the only time Gin could've appeared was in WCI, as a fine addition to one of Big Mom's hentai books, but dude never really appeared... Still, he might appear in the final arc or something, to aid the SH crew, but that's only if Oda hasn't forgot about him.. and I doubt he'll be as strong as Sanji, even.

Maybe we get a cameo. But I don't see Gin getting any kind of extended reappearance. His main role in the story was to give positive context to Sanji's character. I don't see what else he can offer. It would be neat in an epilogue scenario, we see Gin as one of Sanji's customers onboard the Baratie.

the farther we get in nw the harder it gets. like how did gin get from baratie to the yonkou islands that are like the final island in nw.
