Is there is a single person on this forum who believes Oden's death was tragic lol?
Oda tried to make us view Oden as this legendary tragic figure, even having Luffy care for him when he didn't care about Nami and Jinbei's stories. And failed so miserably at it, making him such a stupid buffoon who condemned his people and family to suffering, and brought his doom on himself with his brainless decision to bow to Kaido and Orochi and make that retarded naked dance.

How do you see happening?

A betrayal? Or a similar trick like using one of his family members? Could it be also Garling attacking from behind, or simply while being controlled by domi reversi Roger and Garp had to stop him.

Well thing is Oda wanted audience to care about Oden a lot more than they actually did.
Getting boiled inside the oil is one of the most painful ways to go. It is honestly worse than what Whitebeard went through as during battle, adrenaline helps you tolerate the pain.

But that's where the problem is, Oda failed to make big chunk of the audience care about Oden, by overexposing him, making him dance etc what ever his intention was.

Xebec how ever is becoming extremely popular, coming off as a breath of fresh air and is getting Whitebeard level respect by fan base so his death might hit as hard as Whitebeard's Marine Ford demise.

Oden's death was pretty tragic, but it could have been even better if Oda didn't make him dance naked in the street so that 30 people a week were saved while the entire country was enslaved. :MonkeWhat:
Even funnier, those same 30 people he saved each week by dancing naked ended up getting enslaved later during the 20 years after Oden's death anyway, so his dancing didn't really change anything or save anyone.

LOden strikes me as an example of 'artificial narrative inflation'. Oda went the extra mile to force or convince readers that we should care about this guy, to the point where every character was metaphorically kissing his ass. Oda clearly wanted to write a story about a legendary Japanese samurai figure and decided to use One Piece as the vehicle for that idea, but the end result was a very forced character that even made other characters behave extremely ooc for the sake of dickriding him. It got so bad that even the merch department at JUMP went overboard for the character, presumably at Oda's request, and the anime even had an entire clipshow episode repeating Oden's flashback again, but with Lamato and Momo constantly reminding us how great Oden was and that he is essentially the Christ of Wano.

And I hate to say it, but Oda almost did the same with Shakky now too, but to a less obnoxious degree by constantly reminding us that she's so beautiful that not only everyone in the world loves her, but that even the economy crashed because of her beauty, despite that her design doesn't really stand out from most other female characters in the series, and even Gloriosa looks more memorable. So she ended up becoming artificially inflated for the sake of the story Oda wanted to tell.

Xebec surprisingly was spared this kind of artificial inflation since Oda just has him fight and do what he wants, and nobody loves him for it, in fact he's hated by everyone around him and even comes off as imperfect. That alone makes him infinitely better than Oden, even if it came at the cost of downgradng Roger further, who funnily enough got fucked hard because of Oden being made his poneglyph translator and his favorite crewmate.
