Considering Teach and Admirals are the only notable threats left in a sea full of Nika cum drinkers, yes there's a desperate need for more capable antagonists that can increase the level cap. Especially with CP0 turning out to be shit + Shanks, Mihawk and Dragon remaining against the World Government.

The final war looks like a dogwalk for the SHs and their allies on paper. Really the WG needs someone to step up and the Gorosei are the only ones capable of that right now.

I would rather have 5 ~top tier Gorosei and Imu one or two tiers above Roger, than the Gorosei being fodder and Imu going 1 vs All like Madara.

Personally, I don't really care since it won't matter if Luffy takes an L when he's gonna be the strongest character EOS anyway.

Problem is that not many people would like Luffy being an underdog of the New World even after beating Kaido.

The Gorosei are unknown variables anyways, Luffy can take L’s from established top-tiers, and unknown/new characters (e.g., Elbaf Giants, etc.)
