This is a very popular saying and it is constantly preached by these guys who sell motivational/entrepreneurship/stock market courses. They said things like:

- "10 Steps to Getting Rich."

-"Take the money you earn and invest it in the stock market".

-"The Richest People in the World only got where they are because they worked and put in a lot of effort".

-"With hard work and dedication, you can be rich".

But is it true? Do things really happen like this in real life or is it just bullshit?

It is true for the most part. But they don't tell you that hard work and dedication are like the bare minimum qualities you'd need to get richer. There are, like, a few billion people who're willing to put in, and will put in as much hard work and dedication to achieve the same things that you're aiming to achieve. Everyone's given the same amount of time every day regardless of our circumstances. So you need more than just hard work and dedication if you want to achieve more than others.

One thing for sure is with hard work and dedication, you'll almost always outearn and live a better life than those who're in the same situation as you and don't work hard. Take, Sundar Pichai, for instance, he was an absolute nobody about 20 years ago, and look at where he is now. He wasn't particularly poor but he wasn't the son of a millionaire either. Most of what he achieved in life can be attributed to hard work and dedication.

I’m not talking richest, as in billionaires who mostly were born into super rich families, but you can comfortably be a multi millionaire if you have the will most importantly and work smart.
