Since One Piece is about Island Hopping, since I'm trying to create a series that is similar to One Piece, I want to do Island Hopping myself as well but I need ideas. Is there any sites that can give me ideas?

Also the world of One Piece was simple but complex. I have always wondered how to create a similar geography like that or is there any stories or example on this kind of geography instead of ripping it off.

I mean... you could just use the real world

That's basically what OP is

The real world with some twists to it

Use a globe/a map as a base and then make some changes to it

The grand line / red line stuff is pretty original but as Welkin mentioned the island themselves are real world locations with some twists, and One Piece isn't the first series to do that.

For example, I love Warhammer Fantasy. Their world is literally ours with dark medieval fantasy twists.

I'd say pick a rl culture you want to exploit use an an inspiration

Hxh used the earth and just changed the continents positions on the globe

Take Earth as example and starting point and changes it as you wish.

Instead of having only 1 red line you can have 2 that actually divides the world in 4 seas but you would have no grand line.

One thing that One Piece doesn't explore much are countries/cities that are way above sea level. Like Quito in Equador for example 3KM away from sea level.

Every island can be inspired to an historical period. Like an island like Ancient Rome,an island like Victorian Age,a futuristic island etc.

If we're comparing OP world to the real world, the continents in OP is probably not as big as our world since OP is islands based setting.

As for what kind of theme island I want to build, a magic island would be cool. Like Hogwarts Island.

Or a medieval setting where races from fantasy lives there, like elf, dwarfs, lizardmen, etc.
