So far we know 3 characters with the world's strongest titles

Newgate the world's strongest man
Mihawk the world's strongest swordsmen
Kaido the worlds strongest creature

So my question is how do you believe each of them got the title?
Who were the previous holders if any?
And will there be future holders? (Like i think after zoro we might get our first wss women)

There won't be another WSM coz WB legacy is too high
There won't be another WSC coz almost everyone die or get injured easily and they don't win 1v 1 oftenly without cheating.
There will be always another strongest swordman... Coz it is easier to get.

Whitebeard is the strongest among humans subspecies
Kaido is the strongest being/species overall
Hawkeyes is the strongest in pure swords subcategory

Oda did by proclaiming them that way so they are universally accepted by the overall populations

Kaido's title seems to be the same case with Luffy being the fifth emperor.

wb- his df power seemingly strongest paramecia in the verse.
kaido- his invincibility, coming across as somewhat unkillable . that is till we saw oden cut him up.
dragon - highest bounty as revolutionary leader in direct conflict with the wg
mihawk - major rival for his title lost his arm , so the consensus best was passed on to him.

We can take hints from how Roger got the PK title.

The people in the world started to call him "pirate king" after he reached Raftel and got One Piece

Basically, you need achievements and need to get acknowledged by the whole world. For example, people started to call Blackbeard a yonko only after he beat Marco and WB remnants. People started to call Garp the Hero of marines after he beat Rox. Its similar how it works in real life, people started to call Curry the GOAT shooter only after his 2015-2016 MVP seasons.

So far, we got evidence that two factions play a major role in titles, the first is media, similar to how it works in real world. They mainly spread the news of achievements throughout the world.

Its also possible some creative mind in the media first comes up with those attractive titles. For example, Big news Morgans came up with the 5th yonko thing.


The next one and more important one is World Government. It seems their acknowledgement is also important for the titles

Probably in the same way, the WG was able to hide the involvement Roger in God Valley incident and Garp got all the credit.

Now the 3 cases that you mentioned:
Whitebeard: I guess he didnt need any achievements to get the WSM title. It was probably already established that he is Roger's equal. So when Roger died, people, media and world government automatically started to call him the WSM. We have seen that when Shiki says "its your era now Whitebeard" after Roger's death

Mihawk: Either Mihawk did something big after his duels with Shanks or he got the title automatically after Shanks lost his arm.

Kaido: This one is interesting. WB died and Kaido gets introduced to us as the WSC. We know for a fact that he was viewed inferior to WB by everyone. So Kaido probably has some achievements under his belt to get his title, I cant see him getting this title by beating Moriah or Oden.

Newgate - by riding off the hype of being the closest to Roger's equal
Mihawk - by being undefeated in duels/defeat the previous title holder
Kaido - it may be a way for the WG to mark him as "other" than human to make him seem more monstrous, idk

World's strongest title basically is oda's headcannon so we can count on it. The only doubtful one is WSC because it's only something like "it is said that ..." or "people say that ...", similar to luffy's fake proclaimed fifth emperor.
But in sbs, oda used kaido as the standard of strongest being (when referring mother even steonger than kaido), so it could still count imo.
If we dont believe oda's headcanon, idk anybody else who should we should believe in:cheers:

Whitebeard get the "world strongest pirate" title because he was the only one on par with Roger and after Roger died there was nobody even close to contest his title despite him growing older and sick.

The previous holder, if any, could have been Roger or even before that most likely Xebec. We know Roger is also the only one who has been labeled with the title "great pirate" so far.


Mihawk imo get his title in a fashion similair to WB. He was the best along with another man, Shanks: their duels, with the title on the line as a collateral, shock the grand line. Then Shanks went out of the picture because he lost his arm and Mihawk was left without any valid competitor for the title just like WB after Roger died. To this days we can see a bored Mihawk waiting for a valid rival, his hopes are on Zoro who most likely will be the next holder of the title.

And last we have Kaido, he got his "people say, "in a one on one fight, always bet on Kaido" land, sea and air - out of every living thing in the world this pirate is said to be the strongest creature alive!!!" box which is not a title but what people (in Op world and not only) believes to be true. This because that even if people in OP world would always bet on him we readers know that if we bet on him when he fought Oden or BM (and maybe Shanks too)(there are also the 7 defeats to still discover completely, we have just a few of these) we would have lost our money both times (if we exclude external intervention and use of hostages or a tie like it happened with BM).

So I will talk about his real title: "king of the beasts", he got this title because he is either the strongest zoan user, has the best zoan or because he leads a crew made entirely of zoan users or most likley a combo of all these 3. The next one to get the title could only be his son, King or Queen if he gets defeated and his crew goes on. I doubt any other pirate will ever start a project like Kaido (crew full of zoans and the captain is the strongest zoan df user and has the storngest zoan). Most likely there was not any previous user since the peculiarity of this title.

Smh. Kaido doesnt have a worlds strongest title. He didnt earn anything.
Infact he had 1000 vs 9 odds againsta rag tag team and got clapped by oden and was lucky the old hag saved him from death.
The mihawk nonsense doesnt even warrant a response.

I dont know if you're being willfully ignorant or what. But again there is no official title that is the worlds strongest creature. Everything about kaido is speculation.
