Deadly combination nit to mention Akainu and Aokiji have fought together for years so they'd be a good team

Sure Akainu doesn't have good Haki here but his physical strength is still the same and his mindset with the gas Fruit would be ruthless

Would it make him that much faster that a top of the top tier physical monster like Roger cant tag or react to him? I doubt it.

Apoo retains his Apoo physical stats, his haki would be broken though.

The scratch is the lack of options to tag him with
He's a physical monster but won't be able to actually hit kata with anything due to lack of haki

His basic level fire blasts would be countered by advanced use of lightning as well

No he doesnt. He has tier 1.

If he was tier 5 he would beat Kuzan imo because Roger would have access to ACoC, Ryou, Barrier Haki,etc to compensate.

I disagree, Kuri still has high tier physical stats. Roger literally blitzes and one taps him.

Kuzan would have mediocre haki with a great physical fruit vs Roger with his top tier stats like Kuzan but also maxed out hakis.

It gets countered by all 3 of the other users on the enemy team.
Awakening will either 1) turn the environment into smoke 2) allow for the creation of living smoke constructs or 3) increase the defensive options of the user somehow.

All of these get countered by:
1) the Gasu Gasu no Mi eliminating the compounds in the air required for the smoke to persist
2) the awakened Goro Goro no mi having the same awakening effect but better since it is the superior logia
3) the air shockwaves from Kuzan punching with the riki riki no mi

Tbf about the gas fruit the version we're familiar with is powerful due to Ceasar's knowledge of chemistry

Iirc it's basic function is regular gas, not the worst though as I think Akainu would be smart enough to make a pseudo-flame fruit out of it by carring fire on him
