If you wish to be fodder troops, you'll get Koby's treatment most likely if you don't perform

If it weren't for Shanks and Garp, Bandits like Higuma and Dadan would still be terrorizing the village
Krieg raiding Baratie, Arlong controls an entire island and Buggy an entire town, Germa attacks Cozia, people on Tequila wolf was waiting for who knows how long before Revo takes action on that place
Remembers that just because this the only one that was mentioned by Oda, doesn't means that there's no other stuff like random Celestial Dragon visiting, shooting kids and taking people's wife

Don’t recall Shanks doing a thing about bandita except letting them bully him when he visited scarcely. Garp had one group of mountain bandits raising his kin… For heavens sake Sabaody Archipelago is a pirate hotspot that runs regularly

Naming 1 example from a total 3 villages of main characters who needed a deep backstory or drama for them to join the crew isn’t cutting it.
Speak for the hundreds if not thousands of other towns in that one sea alone. People still sailed and the Baratie was still popular garnering customers from all over the EB.

Well, if you want to see the OP world with Oda lens, he writes a manga for kids/boys where there are for sure dark sides that are never truly explored but they are there and there are plenty (pretty much each island has its own little nightmare society), then of course go for it.
But if we consider this OP world under logic.. you will most likely end slaving away in some country (Dressrosa, Wano, under a CD, you name it), live in a lawless area (Sabaody), go to war and risk to die as cannon fodder (marine, pirate or revo doesn't matter) experimented on by Caesar, Judge, Vegapunk, Queen and so on. There are plenty of terrible fates. Then of course you can be that 0.01% who gets a devil fruit, is born as a CD or, with MC lvl of luck an commitment you can become somebody (but usually you must have genetics as well as disgusting luck, see Luffy).
Then, to not be totally blind, even our world is not so shiny. We are lucky to be here able to type with our phones/PC/whatever but there are billions of people who live with some dollars a day, people who live in war zones (not only Ucraina but Africa, Yemen, Palestine and many other places). For sure there are some places in OP where slavery is better than our world slavery. Still to be sure this is a modern world and the slice of people who get good/decent lives should far greater than OP's world.

they have Devilfruit powers and all the women have slim waist and big chest. if OP had big asses it seems like the obvious choice. Getting a Devil fruit seems like you could live a life of luxury even though the fools that due almost allways become marines or pirates.

Even in the OP world action have cosequences; if you provoke the wrong people your dead. Do you think you will have it easy as a Pirate? Most Pirates are scumbags who kill and betray you, use you to get what they want, "Pirates" like the Straw Hats are rare and even they you can hardly call Pirates in any sense.
As if the OP world would be any different; either you are born into a wealthy family (WN, Royality, Nobles, ect.) or have some strong genes (Big Mom, WB, Kaido, ect) if not your fucked; life is not faire. To have a stable life, food, security and not have to worry day to day to be killed, raped or inslaved is pure luxury in the Op verse and IRL; be lucky to be born in a Country that has social security. In the Op world are Monsters like Kaido, Queen, Jack who doesen't give a fuck for pleebs and are outmatching armys of strong countries; the blues are at least somehow secure but the Grandline, extreme in the NW; pray that you live under the WG or under a Yonko.
Weight liftings means shit if don't have any combat training from the get go; Luffy was trained in very young age by Garp and survived in the Mountains, Zoro trained swordsmanship since a fucking child, Kaido was a Child Soldier at the age of 10 or even younger; plus these guys have some crazy genes. Even the World Nobles have the potential, like Doffy, to be monsters, after all they are descendants of Kings and how do you thing they become Kings? They ancestors took it because they had the strenght and charisma to lead armys and establish Kingdoms that stood for centuries; just like Big Mom a freak of nature blessed for incredible body and CoC created a Powerful Nation in the NW. You need strenght; through training and be born with good genes; blessed by the heavens to have the potetial to unlock CoC and a ungodly amount of luck and plot armor like Luffy.
Even with Haki; do you thing some trains a stranger how to use Haki just for good will? no! Either you have conections to these guys or learns it in the natural way through figthing for your life; either you die trying, never learns it or with enough luck you get it.
Even with DF you need luck too; and even than doesen't mean it will be all powerfull; mostly likely a standard Zoan or a weird Paramecia.

Except in the real world I can do nothing about dozens of FBI agents surrounding me with vehicles and helicopters and I have to constantly be on the run, never able to walk the streets in daylight ever again
