Yamato gazes down at the man she used to call "Father". No, it's just "Kaido" now. She grabs her Kanabo and jumps off the Rooftop.

As she falls, she raises it over her head and begins spinning it. She gathers her will and infuses it all into her weapon. This is the blade that shall severe the chain of cruel fate.

She thinks of Ace's advice:

Of how Luffy helped remove her chains:

Her regret that she was too late to assist him:

For 20 years, Kaido has barred her from pursuing her dreams:

For 20 years, he's beaten her whenever she dared to stand up on him:

For 20 years, she's accumulated a debt. A debt of blood, of crushed dreams, of tears, of a broken will, of suffering.

That debt of 20 years, she'll pay it back with interest.

She closes in on Kaido.

She stops spinning and swings her Kanabo down with all her might.

Conqueror of the Three Realms

Kaido looks on in alarm at his child. To think that it would come to this. Very well, if his foolish son seeks to challenge him, he'll meet that resolve head on.

He grabs his Kanabo and clads it with Haoshoku. He swings to catch Yamato.

Rag Naraku!

Their overwhelming willpower clashes, forming a barrier that separates their weapons.

A massive shockwave envelopes the island. The seas rage, and the heavens split.

Father and child lock eyes with each other.

Or he respects their life choices
Kaido doesn't address her as Oden though. Yamato identifies as Oden, it would be weird for Kaido to treat her as male but not as Oden. That isn't actually respecting their life choices. Yamato doesn't really identify as a man.

I'm guessing Kaido always wanted a son and when Yamato was born, he decided to raise her as his son.

Putting explosive cuffs on your child’s wrist at age of eight wanting to be somebody else and not allowing them to go on their adventure at the age of 20 talk about controlling and abusive
Here is how i see it

Kaido wants a son
Kaido respects Oden

Yamato is a girl
Kaido doesn't want a girl

Yamato identifies as Oden thus identifying herself as himself thus being a man thus being a son
Kaido now has a son and someone that looks up to Oden, the warrior he respects

However Yamato is rebellious wheres Kaido would prefer Yamato to be obedient
If Yamato was obedient Kaido would relish the fact he now has a son and someone that looks up to Oden

Kaido puts cuffs on Yamato to control him while respecting the fact Yamato identifies as Oden but still wants control over him

So yeah, i don't think Kaido has a problem at all with Yamato wanting to be Oden, problem is Yamato not being obedient
