Yamato might not need to be rescued as Luffy already did by taking her cuff off.

Momonosuke fits the "damsel" role for Wano. Momo is the one who came to Luffy for help. It's Momo who is the royalty of Wano, not Yamato, and it's Momo who is the centralizing figure in this fight.

Yamato is closer to the pseudo 3rd parties, like Robin or Franky, who ultimately side with the heroes.

You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you think Yamato is anything more than the princess/damsel of this arc. She’s following the exact same trends every other damsel is the series has:
-Wants to overthrow/defeat the main villain of the arc (Kaido)
-Is inspired by someone else for their motivations (Oden)
-Tries to fight the main villain of the arc but ends up getting saved by Luffy (Upcoming)

Vivi, Rebecca, and Shirahoshi (besides the fighting main villain thing) all follow this trend

When she gets her eventual clash with Kaido and she gets no diffed, she is gonna be on the ground crying and that’s when Luffy is gonna save her, I’m calling it

I see your point but there are two significant differences.
1)unlike the others, Yamato is actually strong and can fight.
2) she will soon be a straw hat.

Aside from yamato though, this princess-ally thing in every single arc, starts getting a little annoying. Lets just hope there wont be another princess in the next arc.
