Well that’s where the character conflict comes in, that should Yamato listen to Buggy because he was Oden’s friend or if she should stop trying to appease to what Oden would or wouldn’t do.

Details like that likely wouldn’t matter, since Momo, Inu, and Neko would more likely see Buggy as a long-time no see friend who was still part of the same crew with Oden, and would catch Yamato’s

Yamato might have been perceptive of the papers enough to have found out that Blackbeard turned Ace in to the Marines, but Buggy is made out to be a hero who tried to save Ace.
