I’m surprised people are that bothered by it
If God Valley was exclusively about Shakky then I’d understand
But with all the things surrounding it (Davy Clan, Rocks’ fall, Shanks and Shamrock’s place of birth, Teach, young Dragon potentially turning against the Navy, the unknown treasures, etc) I really could care less
I’m not going to claim the entire event is ruined because of the trigger while completely ignoring everything that actually takes place during the event
But to each their own

Sexism and objectification in a manga about pirates. What a twist.
Shakky is just a plot device for Roger being there and to build potential conflict with Garling and that is totally okay. We don't need complex context here.
Fighting for women and treating them as object or slave is thematically correct for pirates and underutilized in One Piece. Or has this happened before?
This just adds to the major pirate vibes that have been lost recently in the manga.

But Shakky isn’t the focus of God Valley
God Valley is really about the fall of Rocks
This isn’t like Marineford where Ace is the center of attention and the entire story revolves around his escape
Shakky may be the reason why people gathered but everything that followed has little to do with her
What does Dragon potentially defecting from the Marines have to do with Shakky?
What does Rocks and his eventual downfall likely by the hands of Imu have to do with Shakky?
What does Shanks’ origin and later recruitment by Roger have to do with Shakky?
I could go on but I think you already see my point. Shakky is merely the trigger for the event and she’s irrelevant past that
She’s only truly important narratively for Rayleigh and maybe Garling
That’s why it confuses me when people make a big deal out of it (which is thankfully becoming far less common as we learn more about the event)
Like every chapter comes out with numerous details and the only thing that you can think of is “ahhh but this all started because of Shakky so it’s ruined”

Rocks fighting Kaidou for Harald, that's Luffy's gimmick. T'was bad that moment on.
Garp extreme focus on Roger for no good reason, when there were supposedly more strong pirates like Rocks. Or bigger matters in the world.
Roger n ol supposedly great pirates lustin over Shakky, and all gathering in God Valley for her.
If one character does it, all right gimmick. But if everyone do that, Onepiss it is

They're Battle Brothers. Just 2 Leeroys lookin for their Jenkins. Even though their positions should dictate that they fight for a deeper purpose (like Davy), they just fight for the sake of it. To me that's fine, heterosexually romantic even. But they gotta be isolated, just the 2 of them
I think the only part of early Boa Hancock I enjoyed was her having no effect on Luffy. Wish Roger shared that in common
