Idk who ever zoro saw but its definitely came from the mink’s medicine! Because of the mink’s medicine His body probably in its beyond its limits that Zoro is as good as dead by now! Even chopper and franky is hella worried.. so heres my theory!

if Zoro made this death guy obey him, or conquer this death guy then zoro probably will get a lot stronger body, his strenght, agility, instinct, haki and everything else that he uses would go beyond than before! This is similar to nen on hxh when a character dies and comes back alive they gained a huge boost power

this thing that zoro experiencing right now probably mihawk also experienced it and made a hugeeee boost in his overall capabilities! This is also probably experienced by reyleigh himself thats why he was called the dark king… because he conquered it?Who knows right?

in fact this death guy grim reaper thing if somehow zoro conquered him literally conquered death could probably heal his body! And he might deal with the ciper pol by himself or eveb hold off kaido if luffy needs another 10 mins to regain his haki.

The parallells between Zoro and Rayleigh are there, they could certainly share abilities. Mihawk though feels more like Katakuri to me where it is CoO and skill maxed out but the raw power and determination is a bit lower than Zoro/Rayleigh.

I dont think that's possible because all those stats were already crazy high.
No stat boost will come from this death experience.
At best some haki adjustment to create black blade but we will see...

Oda uses for many situations Dragon Ball as reference.
One aspect in that story is that all time someone is in a death situation become much stronger. Vegeta state that in the Freza saga.
He desire to become a super sayan. So your theory is well grounded.
Rayleigh said that your haki booms when you are facing death situation, Zoro is facing one right now due to the mink medicine which causes the double (or more) pain that Zoro experience after the rooftop fight and king fight.

I feel like this is one of the process to get the blacken blade.

Zoro is having a new battle right now, in a different dimension.
Zoro is a situation in which is facing death (rayleigh said that the more time you face hardship and death situation the more your haki blooms) which is exactly what happening now. I feel like this is the missing part to finally unlock the blacken blade for Enma.

the thriller bark death experience awake zoro coc. Do you remember this scene:
Same can happen here but not to unlock coc but like you said something about the blacken blade or just a boost of Zoro haki. If you come out of death situation also your will get stronger, cuz you have to come back alive if you want to carry that will. One Piece power is just a matter of will. If you dont abandon you will you are almost invincible.
