General & Others Zoro and Sanji swap training

#21
Ok if we’re doing hypotheticals, let’s say Sanji meets the creator of rokushiki and he learns iron body on top of CoA to increase AP as well as rankyaku and he incorporates it with DJ. So basically fire slashes from his kicks.

I can’t think of much for Zoro tho lol
Honestly would love for Sanji to master rokushiki. He so far only has 2 of them but if he somehow learns them all he’d be even more of a monster

Tho I do wonder who is more likely to get all 6 between luffy and sanji
  1. Both know genpo. Tho luffy only in g4 and kinda g5 I guess idk
  2. Both know soru. Luffy can seemingly do it even without g2 but Sanji can use it for longer and is maybe faster
  3. Neither know rankyaku. It would be fitting for Sanji more tho since he specializes in kicking. Luffy getting it would still be cool
  4. Neither know shigan. Luffy learning it to boost his punches like fukuro would be cool. Sanji learning it to kinda mimic Bentham’s swan kicks would also
  5. Neither know tekkai. It wouldn’t hurt them to know tho and make them even tougher lol
  6. Neither know kami-e. Luffy learning it would be dope cause he’d be able to move like katakuri in a way or his Baka mode he used against Enel lol. Sanji doing it would also be good
As for zoro I imagine he’d either be on an island full of only men or women that want to be men swordman. Tho Momoiro seems to have all types of trans people now cause of the newkama

Arguable the new attacks like his new ogi attack he used on the kraken
Probably taught him how to better tame his swords

Zoro also didn’t go to an island that parallels Amazon Lily or Momoiro. Make one up
Like it’d be cool if Sanji was trained by an ex wg ally and rokushiki master

Yes haki helps boost your swordmanship
The way a swordsman focuses/applies haki is specifically done to boost their swords. Therefore boosting their swordmanship
So nothing but headcanon then. I thought as much

Because luffy’s training with Rayleigh was specifically about haki. Rayleigh was specifically focused on improving luffy’s haki

Mihawk was specifically training zoro to improve his swordsmanship

Same way Sanji needed haki to become a stronger fighter but it still wasn’t the focus. Like yeah he learned about haki and even what conquerors was but it still wasn’t the main focus. He was pretty much training his body and improving his black leg style
I don’t understand what you are getting at in this thread

Mihawk’s training to Zoro as far as the story implies is simply mihawk telling Zoro that he needs to unlock CoA… that’s it… Everything else Zoro improved in we are not told has anything to do with mihawk… And that makes sense since Zoro has been demonstrated as the only strawhat that actually trains on his own regularly already

so if Zoro landed with Rayleigh or Ivankov the only difference would be whether Rayleigh or Ivankov told Zoro that he needs to unlock CoA… That’s all… And I assume Rayleigh knows that Zoro should unlock CoA since Rayleigh is a swordsman and Ivankov probably knows since he’s a veteran fighter who at least has come across a swordsman

as far as the story has implied, the only way Zoro is any different is entirely based on whether whoever is training him TELLS HIM COA EXISTS… That’s all… Mihawk didnt even tell Zoro how CoA works… He just told him it exists and he needs it and then Zoro went off and did it by himself

For Luffy it was WAY MORE hands on with daily direct training for Rayleigh so Luffy would lose out the most from getting sent to Mihawk or Ivankov. Mihawk would at best just tell Luffy to go train himself like how he told Zoro, and Ivankov would help Luffy more but since Ivankov doesn’t have CoC he would not help Luffy learn how to use CoC so Luffy would still end up weaker… Also the lack of the giant animals would mean Luffy wouldn’t unlock G4

Sanji is closer to Zoro in that he basically trained himself. But the difference is that Sanji isn’t like Zoro who regularly trains himself… Sanji ended up training himself because HE WAS FORCED TO under threat of getting kissed by men… without someone forcing Sanji to train himself he’d end up way worse… with Mihawk again at best Mihawk would just tell Sanji to go outside and figure it out… with Rayleigh he’d tell Sanji to go fight those giant animals and Sanji would probably refuse, also since Sanji doesn’t have anything like G4, he would never actually manage to beat those animals, and of course he doesn’t have CoC so he wouldn’t be able to tame those animals

see each character got the exact type of training they require for their personalities… Sanji needs to FORCED to train and Oda chose homophobia as a motivation for Sanji… Luffy needs hands on day by day exact instructions to train because he relies on instinct in fights so he needs extra attention to focus on actual training… Zoro is the only one that is used to regular training on his own so the only thing he needs is to simply know what he is training at, and that’s why he’s the only one given a teacher who’s idea of training is simply telling Zoro to go and do the thing and then Zoro goes and does the thing

in conclusion, it’s likely all 3 would turn out worse but Zoro would be the least affected as long as he is at least informed on what to go train to achieve.

Ivankov likely can't teach Zoro a thing as a fighter. The things he could teach him would be history, politics, strategy and other useful things but Oda doesn't do this in One Piece.

Mihawk could teach Sanji a lot. Haki, swordsmanship, being a man and not a simp, worldly affairs. Rayleigh could really up Sanjis game in every area possible. Fighting, strategy, kicks, swordsmanship, swimming and getting love and respect from women such as Shakky or Hancock.

Luffy really should invest if not 2 years at least 2 weeks learning about state of affairs from any of the teachers. I recently re read some Dressrosa chapters and Impel Down - the guy didn't know Boa Hancock or Jinbei were Shichibukai. I mean, there were only 7 of them. He had previously met Mihawk, beat Crocodile, beat Moriah and got sent away by Kuma. Would it not be normal to at least know the name and face of the remaining 3?

Thinking about it if mihawk is shakky’s son both their locations kuma sent them would mirror luffy’s

Luffy being sent to the island of women specifically Amazonians
  • Sanji being sent to the 2nd island of women
  • Zoro being sent to an “Amazonian”

For Zoro 1) Amazon lily too, it would be fun to watch, a bit like Luffy just that he is more serious and he would get more hyiori fangirls but not Hancock. 2) An island where nobody knows swordsmanship and there are no swords, maybe the natives get adamantine on teaching him how to cook, I don't know XD

Sanji Rayleigh or Mihawk would be Scopper Gaban on an hand, but he knows nothing about his fighting style (just like Ray with Luffy) or, if he has to have his Mihawk, the best choice would be a heavy retconed Zeff who becomes some kind of old legend who can train Sanji properly in leg fighting. There are no other serious fighters who use legs who come to mind (Kizaru but he is not available for sure).

Whatelse Mihawk taught Zoro except for Blades can be coated with haki?
And he didn't even show it to him. He simply dictated it and left lol.

So if in Ivankov Kingdom , if there's is a decent swordsman who know basic haki and can coat blade with haki , Zoro stays the same.

Whereas sanji might get murdered by baboons lol.
I would be surprised if he even reaches mihawk.

Perona ends up pregnant, mihawk and the humandrills drop their weapons and become the first students of sanjis black leg style. Mihawk excels at it and is ranked in the top 5 of sanjis students.

This tbh.

1. Even at the very least, Mihawk can still cook some shit, and would be able to teach Sanji a thing or two about some recipes.
2. Mihawk's swordsmanship also helps Sanji's knive skill.
3. Mihawk seemingly being the master of CoO can definitely helps Sanji's CoO attuned talent.

TLDR: Mihawk rules.

As for Rayleigh:

He will notice that Sanji isn't born with CoC and have lower upper-ceiling for Haki, but that's not gonna be a problem because he has experience.

Beside Science part, I think all SH can benefit from Ray just by his wisdom alone.

TLDR : Rayleigh rules.

  1. If you were to give sanji his own Rayleigh or mihawk what would they be like?
I would have sent him to Germa. Not showing much details but making him train with his family in those mercenary missions, while accepting the thing he hates for Luffy. Basically making a deal with his father to help him for 2 years while having access to Germa tech and training.

In this way, we wouldn't have Sanji with a wasted island (seriously, he never learned Okama Kempo and the recipes were a dropped plot point) and when Germa appeared in WCI it would bring some more hype. Even the moments that would be bad for Sanji would have better ''excuses'', as a example he could lose to vergo because he was used to the suit during the timeskip and used too little armament haki.

Okamas, outside of Bon Clay, were a mistake.
