The treasure hunt goes into final stage after it.
That's when it happens, after BBPs vs SHs.

After BBPs get defeated and luffy becomes PK , zoro will also become WSS at same time by beating mihawk. Then WSS zoro will fight WG.

It’s never gonna happen he’s gonna be fighting shiryu than a holy knight because there ain’t a major arc for a secondary character like zoro

forget that benchmark and build up there aren’t many arcs left for Mihawk

Ray's team didn't do anything. That was their conclusion. So by contrast, shp will do something after learning the true history. ie go to war with the WG.

Luffy went into Marineford War because his close friend was in danger.
I am betting that Luffy will go into WG war for the same reason.
Not because of true history that he usually sleeps through...

I ultimately think it happens at laughtale, with buggy always falling upwards i can't see oda not having him(crossguild) there especially since buggy said he just needed to reach it first. At that moment zoro defeats mihawk making zoro the Wss and luffy the Pk as the Pk needs the Wss.

I do think the encounter with the wg will come sooner rather than later. Oda established that The moment vivi is captured Luffy,Zoro and the crew pulls up to rescue her i don't think this happens after laughtale etc.

After witnessing the current level of Oda's writing, I'd rather leave this fight as a good headcanon than Oda giving it some lazy sell-out hype tool treatment.

Just off-screen it, will be less disappointing than whatever Oda would come up with. Sad to think this way, right?

I thinky CG is the silver bullet about it being his final fight.

CG will clash with Luffy for One Piece, and fail, Mihawk is unlikely to outlive CG as narrative device.

So I think he is going down whatever the CG fails.
